Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties. Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls. Know each resident's location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located. Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers. Attend all required in-service training sessions. Be an active member of the community's emergency response team. Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or GED required. 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors. Excellent communication and customer service skills. This position assists in maintaining responsibility for the ACT team reaching quality of care expectations, 100% productivity/census, as well as satisfying all contractual and Texas Administrative Code (TAC) requirements. This position is responsible and accountable for assisting in all aspects of clinical service delivery, including provision of direct care as needed. The position also helps to ensure that their team routinely obtains minimum productivity benchmarks and complies with all agency protocols. All programs are funded through the U.S. Department of Education. We are a team of dedicated individuals who are working toward increasing the number of college-degreed people in our target areas. The TRIO Talent Search Program works specifically with middle and high school students only, assisting them with their educational goals toward a college degree. Position Overview This position is for a college prep advisor. The position is located in Gainesville TX at Gainesville High School. The candidate will serve approximately 100 high school students assisting them with academic skill development and college/career exploration and choosing a course of postsecondary education. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma and some college work. Ability to travel between the 5 Talent Search target schools in Denton and Gainesville, TX on a weekly basis with reliable transportation. Excellent knowledge and skills in the college application and Financial Aid process. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends to participate in parent nights, weekend field trips, and other TS events. Strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills. Must have experience in mentoring and/or tutoring high school students. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience in educating students with their educational goals. Familiar with the TRIO Talent Search Program processes and goals. Will give preference to candidates with TRIO experience. Excellent knowledge and skilled in the college application process, the Financial Aid process. Excellent verbal written communication, and computer skills. Ability to mentor and tutor middle and high school students. Preferred Qualifications Experience in educating students in the college prep and financial aid processes. Familiar with the TRIO Talent Search Program goals and processes. Will give preference to candidates with TRIO experience, either as a participant or professional. Demonstrated commitment to meeting the TRIO Talent Search goals. Familiar with the Gainesville and Denton school campuses. Experience with student data management entry and recording. Required License/Registration/Certifications Job Duties: Tutor and mentor Talent Search students as needed on academic skill development. Maintain files on participants and accurate documentation of services given. Prepare and conduct academic and college prep workshops for 6th-12th graders. Work closely with Talent Search staff and school administrators to conduct tasks to ensure that Talent Search Objectives are met each school year. Assist seniors in completing financial aid and college application completion. Coordinate and attend events for students such as leadership-building forums and college and career field trips for Denton and Gainesville ISD Talent Search participants. Physical Requirements: Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds. Communicating with others to exchange information. Environmental Hazards: Noisy environments. No adverse environmental conditions expected. Work Schedule: Traditional school hours with some flexibility: Monday-Friday: 9:00 am-4:00 pm, some evenings and weekends.
