DigiPen Housing and Residence Life supports student residents as they pursue their education at DigiPen. Housing and Residence Life plays an integral role in the college experience by providing students with a safe and supportive environment through our established Residence Life Program.
ResidentAssistants have the unique opportunity to build community through being accessible, providing an array of social, educational, and recreational activities, encouraging resident interaction, and being a role model as an interested and active member of the DigiPen community. The position requires an individual who is flexible enough to assume a variety of roles as dictated by the changing needs of students. It is crucial that an individual be able to relate well to others and handle administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Academic Standing
* Be enrolled at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
* Maintain a cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5 or higher at the time of application, appointment and throughout the duration of employment.
College Experience

Responsibilities
Community Development and Resident Engagement
* Brainstorms, proposes and facilitates monthly programs and activities designed to meet the needs of residents in conjunction with the department guiding pillars as outlined in the residential curriculum.
* Conducts weekly rounds in the apartment communities to ensure residents well-being, safety and belonging.
* Refers residents to various campus departments such as (but not limited to): Student Success Advisors, Counseling, Tutoring Services and Registered Clubs and Organizations. In addition, refers residents to other community resources as needed.
* Maintains visibility and accessibility to assigned residents to assist with: roommate agreements, roommate mediations and other concerns as needed.
Crisis Management, Policy Enforcement and Facilities Support
* Conducts Health and Safety Inspections in all assigned apartments per semester to address any units of concern and policy violations.
* Assistsresidents in understanding apartments maintenance and best practices to promote a healthy and comfortable living environment.
* Addresses and reports outstanding policy violations per the Housing and Residence Life Handbook as needed.
* Educates residents on their actions and the impact within the apartment community.
* Participates in a duty rotation throughout each semester including Thanksgiving and Spring Break to answer calls, respond to emergencies and escalate incidents as needed to the Professional Staff on Duty.
Administrative Tasks
* Regularly submit reports such as, but not limited to: Rounds Report, Health and Safety Inspection Report, Move-In and Move-Out Reports, Incident Reports, Community Builder Proposals, Purchase Proposals and other reports as training and assigned.

The Director will ensure that staff members are made aware of the resident's code status and end-of-life wishes and will assist with informing and educating residents and their representatives about health care options and ramifications.
The Social Services Director will assistresidents in voicing and obtaining resolution to grievances. The Director will review complaints and grievances made by the resident and make a written report indicating what action(s) were taken to resolve the complaint or grievance. The Director will also gather grievance reports from other Social Services staff and ensure follow through and resolution has been completed as per facility policy. The Director will track grievance trends and report findings as part of the facility's QAPI program as requested.
The Social Services Director will participate in facility policy development in order to positively impact the quality of care delivered to residents.
The Social Services Director ensures that staff members are knowledgeable about Resident's Rights and encourages staff to maintain and enhance each resident's dignity in recognition of each resident's individuality. The Director will also advocate for residents and assist them in assertion of their rights within the facility. When there is an allegation of suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation, the Social Services Director will report to the Administrator and appropriate State agency, as well as will lead a thorough investigation into the allegation.
The Social Services Director will ensure that residents who display mental illness, or psychosocial difficulties such as coping with grief and loss, will have access to appropriate treatment and resources.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The ResidentAssistant is a member of Recovery Campus Team at Brighton Creek under the Behavioral Health Program. This position is responsible for aiding the transitional living program residents and performs the day-to-day activities necessary to ensure that the recovery houses are safe and up to code. This position reports to the Recovery House Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform. * Assist with care and maintenance of recovery house.
* Assist with acquiring, maintaining, and managing food, clothes and other donated supplies.
* Assist with facilitation of recovery house meetings.
* Attend weekly case staffing's.
* Attend staff meetings to provide input regarding client services provision.
* Represent agency through participation in community groups as directed by supervisor.
* Provide client transportation as requested by supervisor.
* Assist with researching and obtaining community resources.
* Maintain records/files, documentation as requested.
* Provide community education as requested.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* High School Graduation or GED
* Valid Washington State driver's license and be insurable under the Nisqually Indian Tribe's insurance policy.
* Must be able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis and fulfill general housekeeping duties.
* Must be willing to follow agency policies and procedures at all times.
* Must have a professional attitude and be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
* Ability to work independently as well as have the ability and willingness to take and follow directions
* Good organizational skills and proficiency at following through with assigned duties.
* Good communication skills (oral and written).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Associate's Degree
* One year experience working in Behavioral Health Field.
* Experience working with Tribes and Native Communities.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
Authorize and complete a background check prior to employment. Pass pre-employment drug screen. Ability to obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

POSITION SUMMARY
Our Resident Lifestyle Assistant (Activity Assistant) supports the Resident Lifestyle Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and coordinating various daily life enrichment activities for our active residents, aimed at promoting their physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage residents one-on-one and in small and large group settings.
Lead or assist with group and one-on-one social, religious, educational, indoor, and outdoor activities, exercise, and outings.
Facilitate games, conversations, exercise classes, art and music, trips, and special events.
Support the coordination of the monthly newsletter.
Encourage resident participation in activities and document outcomes when required.
Review goals and progress notes.
Assist in decorating for special events, holidays, and seasonal celebrations.
Support the coordination of external trips, including reservations, and ensure resident safety during outings.
Assist the Resident Lifestyle Director as necessary.
Requirements:
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience, Competencies, and Skills:
At least 6-12 months of relevant experience working with seniors, leading life enrichment activities, is preferred.
Working knowledge of various computer systems, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and follow scheduled plans.
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and commitment to always treating our residents with respect and dignity.
Friendly, assertive, professional, outgoing, multitasked, and organized.
Excellent communication skills.
Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
