    Duties And Responsibilities Hold a floor business meeting at the beginning and end of each semester. Share duty coverage with staff team members, which may include University break periods. Respond to emergencies in the residence halls. Be on duty five (5) weekends per semester and be present on campus at least two (2) of four (4) weekends each month. Complete tasks in the hall office for four (4) hours per week and maintain availability hours during weekends on duty. Perform designated administrative tasks, including updating and changing educational information as required, and conducting health and safety inspections as needed. Disseminate University information in a timely manner to your residents. Support individuals, groups, and various Residence Life initiatives. Maintain confidentiality with regards to residence hall incidents and student information. Arrive early and/or stay late during breaks in order to open and close the hall. Return to campus before classes begin to attend fall and spring training workshops and prepare the halls for opening. Attend two (2) leadership development sessions per semester, to provide you with training throughout the year. Plan and implement programming for your residence hall that corresponds to the Residential Curriculum, including one-on-one interactions with residents. Contribute to and support the specific community of your floor, which may include leading community agreements and mediations between residents. Communicate with faculty and staff about their involvement in the residence hall. Understand and comply with the Master Key/Retainer Key policy. Abide by the procedures established for use of the Residence Life Purchasing Card. Act as a good role model, whether on or off campus. Know, support, and implement University policies and regulations, documenting policy violations when necessary. Participate in the Resident Assistant selection process and Resident Assistant Council as needed. Other duties, special projects and programs as needed. Qualifications Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average from the time of application throughout their service. Must take a minimum of 12 semester hours and a maximum academic load of 18 semester hours. After the first semester of service, an overload may be taken with permission from the Assistant Director of Residence Life Experience living in Winthrop residence halls highly preferred. Must limit involvement in campus activities and organizations to the extent that there will be no conflict with duties and the time requirements of the Resident Assistant leadership position. The Orientation Leader and Peer Mentor roles are not generally compatible with the Resident Assistant position. May not hold a major campus office (i.e. president of a major organization or student government) or additional employment unless granted an exception by an Assistant Director of Residence Life. May not pledge a Greek Organization during the first semester of service. Must be willing to live by and support the policies and philosophy of Winthrop University and to accept the responsibilities of the Resident Assistant leadership position. Must not be on academic or disciplinary probation. If accepted into the selection process, must take and pass (with a C or higher) LEAD120A: Theory and Practice of Residential Leadership.

This role includes providing hands on care, physical and emotional support as outlined in each resident's Personalized Service Plan (PSP) while maintaining a safe, comfortable home like environment. The Resident Care Associate is responsible for demonstrating all elements of wellness, remaining in accordance with federal, state and local standards and regulations and Phoenix policies to promote the highest degree of quality care and services to our residents. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES RESIDENT CARE Resident Care Associate | CNA Participates in the development of the Personalized Service Plans and updates; attends service plan review meetings with families as requested Follows the hydration schedule established for the residents is maintained during the shift Completes resident meal attendance sheets have been completed and any resident who has not dined in the dining room has been provided room service and / or accounted for. Knows and complies with all resident rights Initiates, assigns, and assist with activities, as appropriate Check all assigned residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, any continence issues and change in condition Uses proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions Checks on assigned resident rooms daily for general cleanliness and neatness and takes appropriate action; ensures high risk rooms are double checked Assist with conducting laundry rooms, common areas - including bathrooms - checks for cleanliness and any exposed hazardous chemicals; and takes appropriate action (i.e. contacting housekeeping, personally cleaning the room, securing the chemicals) Completes all ADLs for assigned residents according to the resident's Personalized Service Plan (PSP) Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly & immediately; takes appropriate action including resetting call bells EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATION Resident Care Associate | CNA High School education preferred and may be required by the state Previous experience working with elders or disabled individuals, preferred Must be at least 18 years of age to perform the personal care aspects of the RCA position Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing, preferred Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours, available to our customers at peak service delivery days and times
