Opportunity
Program Assistants for Uniting Voices Chicago serve a vital role as part of our program team. They have the unique opportunity to work with singers in Neighborhood Choir Programs throughout the city of Chicago, inclusive of families from a wide variety of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Program Assistants are responsible for all non-musical aspects related to the Neighborhood Choir(s) to which they are assigned. Program Assistants work closely with the Conductor of their Neighborhood Choir to gather important information that is then communicated to singers and their families. Program Assistants are present for all rehearsals, concerts, and events related to their Neighborhood Choir. Program Assistants play a vital role in engaging with the community that they serve. Currently, Uniting Voices Chicago has openings for a Program Assistant in the following communities: Beverly; preference will be given to applicants who are familiar with or connected to this community.
Uniting Voices Chicago Neighborhood Choir Programs
The Neighborhood Choir program provides beginning, intermediate, and advanced choral training to over 800 students with treble voices in 3rd grade and up through programs in 12 Chicago neighbourhoods. Neighborhood Choirs meet two times per week, with some programs having one weeknight rehearsal and one Saturday rehearsal, while others have two weeknight rehearsals. Program Assistants provide regular coverage for all assigned choirs and attend all concerts and events. Office hours are also scheduled to complete administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement, Communication, and Relationship Building
Be a strong advocate and ambassador for the mission and legacy of Uniting Voices
Chicago by welcoming new families, maintaining strong relationships with current families, assisting with recruitment, and attending community events.
Supervise singers before and after rehearsals to ensure all singers are safe and well-behaved.
Supervise singers' arrival and dismissal at all rehearsals and concerts. Plan to arrive thirty minutes prior to rehearsal and leave thirty minutes after rehearsal ends.
Communicate regularly with community partners to ensure the best possible experiences for all stakeholders.
Send weekly emails to families with pertinent information such as schedules and upcoming events.
Assist with tour accounting and attend the annual tour in the Spring. Tours are National and usually span three to four days.
Distribute flyers for fundraisers, events, and other Uniting Voices Chicago activities.
Communicate effectively with families to foster deep and meaningful relationships with Uniting Voices Chicago.
Maintain strong relationships with singers and families to ensure continued participation throughout the year. Give detailed reports when a singer discontinues participation.
Organizational Support and Administrative
Collect and track registration and attendance, and report updates to the conductor and office regularly.
Create monthly calendars in a timely manner, submit to the office and conductor for edits, and distribute paper and digital copies to families.
Actively participate in weekly Program Team meetings
Communicate regularly with the Program Team to ensure equitable experiences amongst all programs.
Attend and assist with organization-wide events.
Collect payments for tuition, fundraising, and tour from singers, issue receipts, and deliver to the main office. Keep accurate records of all transactions.
Qualifications
Passion for working with diverse youth ages 8-18 and for fostering deep and authentic relationships with their families and communities.
Experience working with children and youth from diverse backgrounds is preferred.
Strong understanding of Google Suite, specifically Google Docs and Google Sheets.
Commitment to collaboration in a team, as part of a larger organizational staff and with families and community partners in a mission-driven environment.

The Orthotic Resident position is a resident training position in the field of orthotics. During the course of the residency training, the resident must remain under the supervision and direction of a qualified American Board Certification-certified practitioner. The individual in this position is required to adhere to NCOPE resident policies and procedures. In this capacity, the orthotic resident is responsible for developing technical and clinical skills under the supervision of an ABC certified practitioner and with the intent of providing each patient with best practice methods. What is the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (the “MacArthur Foundation”) Residency in Nonprofit Law?
The MacArthur Foundation offers a one-year residency in nonprofit law to a recent law school graduate to work in its Office of the General Counsel. The purpose of the residency is to provide exposure to the legal work of the MacArthur Foundation as well as experience in and exposure to the field of nonprofit law.
The residency will commence on a mutually agreeable date in the fall of 2026 at the MacArthur Foundation's headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. The Office of the General Counsel of the MacArthur Foundation currently consists of a twelve -person team that includes its Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, a Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, and two Associate General Counsels. The Office of the General Counsel works closely with all MacArthur Foundation departments and programs on matters involving state and federal tax-exempt law, general corporate law, intellectual property law, international law, investment matters, impact investments, corporate governance, employment and regulatory issues.
The Ford Foundation (“Ford”) and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (“Moore”) also host legal fellows. MacArthur, Ford and Moore work together to provide some shared programming and learning for the fellows and Resident. What to expect on a given day as a Post-Doctoral Resident:
You will communicate and interact with a variety of personalities within and outside of the organization and cultivate professional working relationships with each.
You will conduct clinical interviews with caregivers, case managers, and any other pertinent members of a childs treatment team.
You will review client files including IEPs, previous psychological evaluations, and records to aid in completion of reports.
You will complete thorough reports including information from clinical interview, rating scales, NMT functional brain map, and recommendations for further treatment/assessment in a timely manner under the supervision of licensed psychologist and/or Program Director.
You will provide feedback to treatment teams (caregivers, community members, etc.) with comprehensive recommendations for additional services.

Summary of Duties of the Resident Care Assistant
The primary responsibility of the Resident Care Assistant (RCA) is to provide physical and psychosocial care to all residents in a manner that promotes dignity, choice, and individuality. The Resident Care Assistant reports to the shift supervisor as well as the Wellness Director.
Essential Functions of the Resident Care Assistant
Provides all necessary care and services to assigned residents and assists other wellness department associates as needed.
Works collaboratively with peers and other team members.
Provides assistance with activities of daily living such as with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene (includes: shaving, oral care, nail care, hair care, foot care), toileting, eating, and ambulation/mobility.
Maintains professional demeanor at all times when interacting with residents and families.
Reports any suspected or witnessed instances of verbal, mental, or physical abuse to licensed staff immediately.
Utilizes safe transfer techniques when assistingresidents with mobility.
Washes residents' laundry as needed.
Understands and uses Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Standard Precautions, OSHA's Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens standard, and follows established infection control procedures, hazardous communication, and other safety rules.
Documents provision of services on company forms.
Operates designated medical equipment, copy, scan, fax machines, and telephone.
Escorts residents and coordinates internal transportation needs.
Assistsresidents with personal correspondence/telephone use when requested.
Observes and reports changes in residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to Wellness Director or supervisor, as needed.
Conducts room checks and resident rounds.
Monitors for environmental safety hazards.
Respond to emergencies in a prompt and calm manner; Immediately reports such emergencies to the supervisor.
Uses tactful, diplomatic communication techniques in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations.
Follows-up with appropriate staff, residents, or other individuals regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.
Non-Essential Functions of the Resident Care Assistant
Participates in and supports the resident-centered activities program.
Care for sensory enhancement devices such as eyeglasses and hearing aids.
Completes housekeeping tasks such as bed-making, linen changes, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning bathroom.
Acts as ambassador and public relations representative to guests and other off-campus visitors.
Copies special paperwork or forms.
Assists in a variety of tasks related to dining (escort residents to dining room, assist with set-up and clean tables, serve meals, bus tables, etc.).
Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values and wisdom of the residents, and an understanding of the aging process.
Collaborates with associates in other departments to assure necessary care and services are provided.
Participates in projects or committees as assigned.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and mandatory in-services.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Certification by state approved program, if required.
Satisfactory completion of the company ResidentAssistant skills competency checklist.
Be in good physical health and free of communicable diseases; Lifting, bending, and pushing medication cart about residence is required.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Completion of drug testing and criminal background check upon hire and upon request of supervisor.
Experience in Assisted Living preferred, but not required.
