A ResidentAssistant (RA) is a student leader that works with the Office of Campus Life and other departments on campus to help create a supportive community in the residence halls. They serve as a resource for students and ensure a positive living experience that promotes growth academically, personally, and socially. They promote safety by enforcing campus policies and following protocols. They build community through programming and having an active presence on campus. ResidentAssistants report to their direct Community Director and the Director of Campus Life.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistsresidents with transition to university and residence hall life.
Enforce university and residence hall policies and regulations
Remains available to residents while on duty in designated areas
Perform rounds during duty shifts to ensure safety of residents during the evening
Provide designated programming as outlined in the manual
Assists in supervising residents and responding to complaints, reports, requests, and emergencies
Submits reports on infractions, violations, and safety issues
Promotes Campus Life events and programs
Inform residents about relevant campus and local activities
Facilitates mediation of disputes between residents
Attends and participates in staff meetings and training sessions
Organizes and directs regular floor meetings with residents
Supports residence hall team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Become familiar with and abide by the RA manual
Other duties as assigned by the Campus Life staff
Qualifications:
Maintain a full-time student status at Post University with at least 12 credits per semester
Have and maintain a cumulative 2.75 grade point average
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to get along with students of various cultures and backgrounds

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of board-certified Primary Care Nurse Practitioners and Physicians, the Resident:
Conducts medical evaluations and formulates accurate diagnoses in accordance with the International Classification of Diseases. Manages prescribed medication, performs physical health examinations, conducts preventive screening and care, develops and presents clear clinical impressions and recommendations that are specific and attainable. Prescribes therapeutic interventions appropriate to identified problems. Administers drugs and biologicals as required by the Clinic.
Demonstrates a basic knowledge of physical health concerns and effective medical interventions. Triages clinical emergencies and implements safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes evidence based and best medical practice.
Monitors patients' self-care management and self-care skills and provides prevention, wellness, and pertinent medical education.
Provides requisitions for clinical studies, diagnostic tests, and laboratory studies. Evaluates and interprets results to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for consultation with specialists, subspecialist, and allied health professionals as indicated.

Assure fire prevention measures are followed.
Document and report all incidents of risky or unsafe resident behavior (i.e. substance abuse, SIB, etc.)
Provide and maintain a consistent, structured, yet flexible framework for daily routines, house rules and policies.
Foster positive resident behaviors by modeling and teaching constructive communication and conflict resolution.
III. Transport residents to school, activities, medical and counseling appointments, recreational activities, bus and train terminals and shopping excursions.
IV. Lead resident discussion groups to convey instructions, share information, organize group activities and resolve conflicts.
V. Completes daily and monthly reports, critical incidents and assigned paperwork in an accurate and timely manner; in accordance with PNMI Standards.
VI. Attend weekly staff meeting and participates in Agency training programs as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the Program Director.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: An Associate's Degree in a human service field and experience working with behaviorally challenged and at-risk adolescents. Must have the ability to relate to a variety of people and situations, to work with other staff members as part of a team, provide a positive role model and represent positive cultural and moral values. Familiar with Trauma Theory, Female Development, Female-Responsive principals, and relational strength-based approaches to care. Good verbal and written communication skills.
The employee must present a current valid driver's license and have available, use of a safe and roadworthy vehicle. The employee shall ensure the Agency has proof of suitable automobile insurance at all times.
Upon hire or shortly thereafter, the employee must acquire and present the following:

Check fall precautions: bed monitor, mats, and personal alarms. Check and clean dirty wheelchairs after each meal or after incontinent episode.
Check and clean tub and shower room.
Greet newly admitted residents upon admission, escort to room as necessary, receive paperwork from referring agency, and inform Unit Manager/Charge Nurse of arrival.
Assist with inventory of new admissions.
Assist in arranging for and making appointments for diagnostic therapeutic services.
Direct visitors to residents' rooms, office areas, etc.
Photocopy and fax per the needs of the unit.
