· Must complete 3 day orientation on Assisted Living and other required topics according to EOEA’s Assisted Living Regulation 651CMR section 12.07.
· Must complete a minimum of 15 hours per year of ongoing education and training.
GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Includes, but not limited to:
· Frequent bending
· Employee may be required to sit or stand stationary for a period of time
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Able to tolerate walking throughout the facility on cement and carpeted floors.
· An annual physical exam and negative Mantoux test (or chest X-ray).
· Able to tolerate frequent stair climbing to freely and easily get to any of the facility levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Reports to the Director of Resident Care and Service Coordination and shift supervisors any significant changes in mental status or physical condition of residents.
· Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily living as specified by individual service plans.
· Documents resident care in accordance with facility and EOEA guidelines.
· Assists residents with SAMM (Self-Administered Medication Management).
· Prepares and serves custom dietary approved meals and assures that the residents are completely satisfied with the meals presented to them.
· Washes, folds and puts away the residents’ laundry towels and linens with care and accuracy.
· Performs daily general cleaning of the house, including picking up, cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms and washing the floors. Cognizant of all odors and makes sure that all odors are eliminated in a timely manner.
· Responsible for stocking all resident room and kitchen with essential supplies and notes when supplies are running low.
· Responsible for answering the telephone with the highest level of professionalism and properly relay messages and information to the house manager.
· The assigned overnight Resident Care Specialist position is an awake position and it is expected that this individual is awake at all times during their shift.
