JAC Products has an opportunity for a VA/VE & Resident Engineering Manager to join our team in Pontiac, MI! In this position, The VAVE/Resident Engineering Manager and their team are responsible for 3 key areas of our business. First, developing, setting, and achieving VAVE targets for each of the North American plants with their leadership team, Finance team, and Purchasing team. Second, this role is responsible for monitoring product warranty performance, prioritizing warranty investigations and corrective actions, and negotiating debit/charge back with our customers. Third, managing and driving the successful completion of post gate 6 product design changes managed by the Resident Engineering team.

  • Understanding and working knowledge of OEM customer specific requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE: Reporting to the Engineerng Mechanical Lead, you will be part of the Ontario Projects Engineering Department and will collaborate with other departments of the mine. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Support, with the assistance of the engineering team, consultants working on the development projects in relation to engineering;
Participate & support the project procurement activities;
Ensure that all relevant information developed during the engineering phase is properly transferred to the construction site;
Participate in the transition between the various project phases (engineering to construction, and construction to operation);
Develop, with AEM management, the construction activities sequence, contractor's follow-up, track changes to the contracts, and collaborate with the other project departments to control the project activities;
Participate and support the project commissioning and start-up activities;
Provide support to the team in problem solving for each phase of the project;
Complete field inspections for all major steps of the construction process;
Monitor budgets and timelines for the projects under your supervision;
Inform engineering team of any project budget or schedule deviation;
Collaborate with the project control team in order to follow and update the project schedule;
Maintain an updated schedule of all construction work;
Consider procurement aspects for projects and its major components.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (College Diploma combined with engineering experience);
2-4 years of experience in the mining industry;
Excellent knowledge of project development is considered an asset;
Change management ability;
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language for our Ontario operations is English.
Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days for rest; a combination of presence at our CSDRN (Project Team Home Office) and Macassa Mine site depending on the site activities and project status.
