What You'll Do as a Youth Care Worker
The Youth Care Worker is responsible for providing direct care supervision and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for Unaccompanied Children (UC) in accordance with Office of Refugee Resettlement(ORR) licensing standards, Agency, program, policies, standards, other federal, state, CARF and local regulatory requirements.

Work Standards for a Youth Care Worker
Conduct intake services for incoming UC to include, but not limited to: completing the necessary paperwork and assessment, providing the UC with an overview of the program services, and assist with the initial placement; assist with new UC orientation
Provide basic needs to UC upon arrival to the program, which includes, but is not limited to meal, clothing, hygiene products, shower, bedroom assignment; support routines of UC through assistance and supervision of wake-up, bedtime, personal care, completion of chores, homework, meals, recreational activities, and laundry
Perform behavior management, oversee therapeutic activities, and crisis intervention
Supervise UC and set appropriate behavior limits in accordance with the UC's individual treatment and behavior plan and ORR standards
Provide appropriate intervention to ensure UC safety and well-being; provide 1:1 monitoring of medical, mental health and/or behavioral as directed by management or a member of the clinical or multidisciplinary team
Clean, organize, and maintain the UC living space to provide a safe environment
Observe UC and provide feedback for the purpose of updating the UC's behavior plans or improving their basic living and environment
Conduct regular and consistent 15-minute headcounts of UC under care

Communication
Follow individual plans and behavior support plans to provide appropriate services to UC and document those interactions using designated forms and/or database
Ensure all forms and progress notes are properly completed using the necessary forms and/or database to ensure compliance with ORR standards and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements; document planned interventions, behavior incidents, and general observation of UC skills, behaviors, and mood using the appropriate forms
Provide the appropriate Therapeutic Crisis Intervention when required or directed by management or a member of the interdisciplinary or treatment team

Assist Unit Manager of being point of contact in the absence of the Shift Supervisor
Support, teach and provide UC with a full range of basic care needs, including, but not limited to bathing, feeding, cleaning, shopping, and laundry
Work closely with immediate management to plan and implement social and recreational activities for UC
Accompany UC on outings and activities to promote community inclusion; accompany and/or transport UC to airport, appointments, outings, and activities using established safety protocol. Load and unload residents into the designed vehicle
Report UC safety hazards and risks to the management and/or the clinical staff in a timely manner
Must assist in the evacuation of UC as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the management, program and clinical staff, UC, and volunteers to meet the needs of the UC and ensure the program goals and objectives are being met
Work closely with management, the program, and clinical staff to ensure program operations, goals and objectives are being met and the UC are receiving the highest quality of services and support
Must assist in the evacuation of UC as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences

Must be able to work extended shifts during periods of influx, including 12-hr shifts at least once a week or more

The Mental Health Integrated Services (MHIS) Program Manager is directly responsible to the Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health (ACOS MH) and coordinates programmatically with Chief of Psychology as needed. The incumbent assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures for the Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) Program, Health Behavior Coordination (HBC), Pain Psychology, Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) Psychology, Urgent Care Mental Health Integration (UCMHI) programs, and other Mental Health Integration (MHI) programs; administratively and clinically supervising personnel across those programs; and developing individual or group goals and objectives as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating, and overseeing mental health services delivered under those programs for the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS). The PCMHI program includes clinical and non-clinical staff from multiple disciplines including direct report supervisee psychologists, licensed professional mental health counselors, clinical social workers, and psychology technicians, as well as staff (mental health RN and clinical pharmacists) who are directly supervised through other services. The HBPC, HBC, and Pain staff currently include clinical psychologist direct reports, while the UCMHI clinicians are presently Social Workers or Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselors. The incumbent works with the other MHIS supervisor to ensure all MHIS staff adhere to all current directives of VHA, and meet current Joint Commission standards, State licensure standards, and VA-OIG expectations. The incumbent will conduct ongoing intensive reviews and appraisals to ensure the accomplishment of objectives and adherence to standards set by governing and accreditation bodies. The incumbent also provides direct clinical services for a portion of his/her time. In addition, the MHIS Program Coordinator functions as a subject matter expert and leader within the health care system in issues that relate to the MHIS programs.
The Program Manager:
* Exhibits leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups served through MHI programs that cross service and discipline lines and influence organizational mission and health care. The incumbent provides administrative, technical, and clinical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of MHIS personnel.
* Assists with performance measure monitoring, evaluation, and action plans for program improvement/enhancement as well as accreditation reviews and pertinent site visits.
* Guides and oversees MHI services, determining staffing requirements and assignments in conjunction with members of treatment teams and staff areas where individual skills are best utilized. These duties include development of functional statements, position descriptions, and performance standards with service personnel as well as function as the professional expert relative to MHIS practice issues.
* Assists with directing operation and management of all clinical, training, and administrative needs within MHIS programs.
* Provides oversight of programmatic resources of MHIS programs, ensuring delivery of specialized, complex, and highly professional mental health services integrated with primary care and specialty medicine settings, which significantly impact the health care provided to Veterans.
* Works with all local medical center, health care center and community-based outpatient clinic leadership to meet site specific administrative and operational goals and may assume local leadership functions as necessary and as approved by ACOS for Mental Health.
* Works with ACOS Mental Health in identifying and prioritizing MHIS resource needs to include staffing and equipment needs of MHIS providers.
* As delegated, is responsible for the oversight of funds assigned to Psychology Section control points.

Individual Planning

* Act as a student advocate, leader, collaborator, and systems change agent. Advocate for a school environment that acknowledges and respects diversity and ensures equitable access and placement in courses and programs for minority, disenfranchised, homeless, and other special populations.
* Interpret standardized test results, offer career development activities, provide strategies for grade level transitions, and guide students in individual goal setting and planning including creating and reviewing personal graduation plans and providing information about post-secondary opportunities.
System Support
* Collect, summarize, and interpret testing data to plan, create interventions, guide students, and address specific student needs.
* Conduct an annual program audit to inform accountability, action plans, time management, and systemic change.
* Participate in campus-based school improvement planning and goal setting.

Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) are the first line of defense for our Service Members' mental health, and we need flexible, ready-to-serve counselors willing to jump in at a moment's notice.
Leidos seeks passionate licensed mental healthcare providers ready to embrace a flexible PRN-type schedule, stepping in where needed across military installations and communities to safeguard and enhance mental well-being. MFLCs proactively provide counseling services, preventative in nature, to address and provide solution-focused approaches to issues before they become greater challenges. Interested counselors may support either adults or minors in a wide variety of assignments including but not limited to being embedded with a military unit, supporting military families, or working within a school setting.
What is Mission Ready Reserve (MRR)? Mission Ready Reserve MFLCs are trained and available counselors ready to serve when called upon. Working as a Mission Ready Reserve MFLC allows counselors to focus wholeheartedly on their passion for helping others, without by administrative burdens. Mission Ready Reserve counselors are assignment ready and taking an assignment is at the discretion of the Mission Ready Reserve counselor.
The Mission Ready Reserve Team has a backfill (fill-in) position for an existing MFLC who is taking a leave of absence. In this position the MFLC serves Service Members and their families in Kingsville, Texas. This is an interim position from with the MFLC Program and provides an opportunity to positively impact those who serve our Nation while getting to experience what it is like to be an MFLC.

MRR MFLC responsibilities include:
Face-to-face counseling to military service members and their families (individual, couples, family, and children).
Recommending appropriate referrals and handoffs based on your experienced differential clinical skills to military and community resources according to the needs of military service members and their families.
Offer presentations to address social skills development and social emotional learning that is crucial for childhood early development.
Build rapport with service members, spouses, and children by attending installation and community events.
Help families and children with challenges that are particular to the military community, transitions, reoccurring moves, frequent separations, deployments, and more.
Environment: At the direction of the Department of Defense (DOD), duties are performed in multiple indoor locations (approximately 60%) and outdoor locations (approximately 40%). The indoor locations are located within a military installation, a school setting, or a child development center (CDC) setting controlled by the DOD. The outdoor locations frequently involve traversing over uneven grassy, gravel, and/or dirt areas, ascending/descending stairs, and exposure to the weather. CDC settings frequently involve sitting on the floor to interact with children for up to two hours at a time. As a Mission Ready Reserve MFLC, you may experience various environments depending on the assignment.
Minimum Requirements:
A master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
The candidate must hold a valid independent license in the mental health field from any US state or territory (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist).
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance.
