POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Health Professional is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and provides clinically appropriate services under the clinical direction of the Director of Mental Health. The Mental Health Professional will provide mental health screenings and assessments, clinical watches, treatment groups and individual sessions, as well as other clinically related activities.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide clinical services, including screening, assessment, treatment planning and crisis intervention.
2. Performs individual and group therapeutic counseling.
3. Performs administrative consultations for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the institution.
4. Interviews inmates to obtain information concerning medical history, mental health history, or other pertinent information.
5. Observes inmates to detect indications of abnormal behavior.
6. Reviews results of tests, treatment plans and treatment cases with the behavioral health team to evaluate client needs and implement treatment.
7. Coordinates psychiatry services, which includes but is not limited to tracking and triaging patients' requests or staff referrals for psychotropic meds; administrative duties for psychiatry visits; tracking psychiatry services provided including signed consents and obtaining refusals.
8. Plans and administers therapeutic treatment such as counseling, behavior modification and psychosocial education to assist inmates in managing their mental disorders and other interpersonal or environmental problems.
9. Discusses progress toward treatment goals with inmates and ensures that the treatment plan is completed in a timely manner, adhered to as the barometer for treatment and is reflected in the progress notes.
10. Consults with behavioral health team concerning treatment plan and amends plan as described
11. Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects as requested.
12. Experience working effectively with a multi-disciplinary treatment team, providing clinical supervision, performing consultation and teaching others
13. Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
14. Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
15. Provides documentation in accordance with unit policies, procedures, and facility policies when recommended and/or indicated.
16. Participates in mandatory as well as elective educational activities as well as orientation of new staff, and inmate orientation.
17. Attends weekly staff meetings and follows all team/unit protocols.
18. Adheres to safety and security policies, and participates in disaster drills.
19. Follows security regulations and policies, with consideration of clinical factors.
20. Completes case management responsibilities as required.
21. Completes chart reviews as required.
22. Engages in internal audit preparation and review process as directed by the Director of Mental Health Services.
23. Appropriately recommends/offers input to multi-disciplinary team for transfers to alternate levels of care, and/or grade changes when requested.
24. Participates in all mental health watches and log entries as directed
JOB REQUIREMENTS

LICENSING: Current Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) or Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP)
CERTIFICATION: Current CPR Certification

Ensures the safety of the youth during transportation and during visitation with biological family.
Transports youth in and around service area from a designated location to the place of the visit and back again understanding that being on time for every scheduled visit or transportation is crucial.

We are seeking an experienced and committed Missing & Anti-trafficking Youth Services (MATYS) Specialist to join our dynamic and innovative organization. This position focuses primarily on working with youth and young adults (up to 24 yrs.) who are at high risk of sexual exploitation/trafficking and their caregivers. It requires a victim-centered, trauma-informed approach that includes meeting clients in their home and/or other community locations. It is a unique position, requiring close collaboration with local, state and federal law enforcement and prosecutors, child protection, juvenile justice, mental health providers and other community organizations. This position will provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and other support services to this population of youth, young adults, and their families. It requires extensive engagement with client to build a solid, trusting relationship that can be maintained over a longer period of time due to complexity of trafficking and lengthy investigations and prosecution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in reviewing all police reports from Omaha Police Department involving missing juveniles to determine program eligibility and acceptance
* Collect information on missing/trafficked youth from child welfare, criminal justice and Project Harmony sites in an effort to coordinate care with child protection, juvenile justice, law enforcement and other community providers serving this population
* Conduct comprehensive client assessments affecting these individuals and family functioning
* Provide comprehensive case management services to high-risk youth and/or youth survivors of human trafficking within their homes and other locations in community
* Provide education and advocacy to reduce barriers or challenges within employment, housing, mental health, physical health and other social service systems
* Collaborate with client to create safety plans, community reintegration plans, and reconnection to family or informal support plans
* Work closely with local, state and/or federal law enforcement agencies throughout trafficking investigation
* Assist clients with victim impact statements, protection orders, and other related legal matters
* Prepare youth to testify and attend court hearings to support them through criminal prosecution of their trafficker. Also, be prepared to provide testimony in criminal court regarding your role/services with the trafficking victim
* Complete all required documentation and follow-up in a timely manner to ensure an effective and coordinated service delivery response
* Collect statistics and implement quality improvement procedures aligned to best practices
* Maintain a comprehensive list of community treatment providers and resources for families. Coordinate referrals with other professionals, organizations and agencies within the community
* Actively participate in consultation, supervision, team meetings and collaboration with other agencies and service providers on behalf of clients

Qualifications

The Resident Specialist is responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of residential facilities and supervising youth activities at YES Emergency Shelter.
Responsibilities:
Implementing YES residential program policies and procedures, which are designed to provide management, guidance, and redirection for the youth residents in the residential facilities.
