Position Summary

Our Residential Program houses 31 residents and provides our clients with SUD counseling, peer support, therapy and other wrap-around services that support them in achieving sobriety.
As a PRN Residential SUD Counselor, you will provide support to our full-time counseling team and assist with group counseling, documentation, resident interactions, data entry, and other day-to-day program needs. This is a non-caseload position, designed to help maintain continuity of services during staff absences, high census periods, and agency needs.
Essential Functions
Support the facilitation of SUD groups and programming during daytime shifts
Document group activities, progress notes, and other required logs according to program and funding guidelines
Assist with administering daily Med Calls
Conduct and document resident drug screens
Complete tasks assigned by the Lead Counselor or Program Manager
Help resolve interpersonal issues between residents when appropriate
Support residents in following residential rules and routines
Attend required trainings and meetings when scheduled
Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR, and agency policies
Maintain a trauma-informed and culturally competent approach when working with residents
Support transportation of clients to off-site meetings and/or events

Minimum Qualifications
Registered or Certified SUD counselor in the state of California

The SUD Counselor III is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team that supports our clients through assessment of their needs and strengths in support of their health and recovery. SUD Counselor III will perform counseling in individual and group setting, deliver curricula in accordance with program specific requirements and case management, and assist clients in navigating systems of care while providing a supportive treatment environment.

Peer Specialist Overnight are responsible for maintaining and assessing the safety and security of the program and residents throughout the night while providing a supportive treatment environment. Through effective communication, Peer Specialist Overnight relay relevant information to other members of the interdisciplinary team and performs crisis intervention as needed. Peer Specialist Overnight ensure that the treatment environment is safe and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
Remains alert and awake during the entire overnight shift.

Overnight monitor will support the medical team when needed to ensure participant medication is securely stored and properly accounted for.
Responsible for re-stocking supplies in bathrooms, Health and Wellness Room and the Administrative Office. Check phone message on both the duty phone and the landline phone and forward to appropriate staff or email staff with information.
