Specialists assess help-seeker needs, provide information and referrals, offer advocacy assistance when required, and follow-up, as assigned, to ensure needs are met. The Bilingual Crisis Contact Specialist is a dual-role position responsible for providing support through both phone and chat. This role serves the 988 NBU Suicide & Crisis Lifeline as well as the Disaster Distress Helpline. The Bilingual Crisis Contact Specialist provides call, chat, and text support to individuals in crisis, ensuring timely intervention, risk assessment, emotional support, and referral to appropriate resources, while maintaining compliance with HeartLine and national standards. To be considered for this role, applicants must reside in Oklahoma.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Respond to crisis calls, chats, and texts, providing emotional support, assessment, crisis intervention, and appropriate referrals in a consistent and non-judgmental manner.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
A WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor is a paraprofessional support person who provides basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Supports WIC mothers during a normal breastfeeding experience.
* Counsels new WIC mothers at certification.
* Promotes breastfeeding to WIC participants.
* Addresses specific concerns of WIC expectant/breastfeeding mothers and corrects misinformation.
* Shares WIC-approved breastfeeding educational materials with participants.
* Counsels WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers over the telephone and in person (one-on-one) at scheduled intervals.
* Follows up on WIC participants according to protocol.
* Is available to WIC clients outside usual clinic hours and outside the WIC clinic environment.
* Provides participants the phone number to the Oklahoma Breastfeeding Hotline for additional breastfeeding support from International Board Certified Lactation Consultants 24 hours per day/7 days a week.
* Assists Certified WIC Nutrition Technician with Issuing breast pumps and maintains breast pump inventory.
* Documents appropriate counseling information.
* Completes and turns in the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program Monthly Activity Report to the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Coordinator in a punctual manner.
* Keeps participant files in a secure environment.
* Participates in clinic staff meetings as part of the WIC team.
* Attends scheduled Breastfeeding Peer Counselor meetings and in-services.
* Provides appropriate referrals when needed.

Basic Purpose
Monitor and supervise 35 to 45 youth (ages 17-21) in the Oklahoma Job ChalleNGe Program (Sooner Job Challenge Program).
Compensation: $40000.00
Typical Functions
* Under administrative supervision monitors and supervises 35 to 45 youth (ages 17 to 21) in the Oklahoma Job ChalleNGe Program (Sooner Job Challenge Program)
* Maintains accountability of assigned platoon at all times
* Maintains discipline, security, and safety within a quasi-military atmosphere
* Develops a team-oriented attitude in the Associates
* Mentor/role model for those assigned cadets during the residential phase of the program
* Conducts first line counseling and problem solving for those assigned Associates and is the primary instructor in Drill and Ceremony and group living skills
* Directs and participates in physical training
* Provides transportation and supervision for Associates attending vocational training
* Maintains supporting documentation and evaluations for those assigned Associates

Physical Requirements:
* Requires long periods of standing and walking indoors and outdoors throughout the day
* Working in conditions of both high and low temperatures
* Ability to climb stairs
* Ability to run a mile and walk extended distances
* Ability to do pushups, side straddle hops, sit ups and other physical training and fitness activities
* Ability to teach and perform physical training to Associates as outlined by the Youth Challenge Physical Fitness Program.
* Ability to drive or ride in a vehicle for extended distances
Conditions of Employment:
* Serves a 12 month trial period
* Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background check
