Essential Functions
1. Provides guidance for students to achieve positive attitudes and proper behavior in dormitory living situations and to accomplish their goals and objectives in obtaining self-management skills.
2. Determines, recommends, and arranges student visits to Counselors.
3. Directs dorm activities as designated.
4. Patrols and monitor dormitories and Center as required, ensuring safety and proper behavior of students; resolves potential or occurring problems.
5. Assists with recreational activities for students on and off center as required.
6. Prepares reports, the pass list, and other administrative correspondence relating to students.
7. Direct and assist students in the cleanup of the dormitory.
8. Recommends or requisitions supplies to meet the needs of dorm living and ensure students' safety.
9. Conducts group sessions in accordance with the schedule and maintains required documentation; as assigned, participates in Career Preparation Period (CPP) activities.
10. Provides students with guidance in social skills development and self-management skills.
11. Maintains accountability of students and property; adheres to safety practices.
12. Models, mentors, and monitors the positive normative culture of the center.
13. Acts as a responsible custodian for the assigned center property.
14. Reports violations of unethical behavior.
15. Suggests opportunities for continuous operational improvement and a reduction of waste.
16. Identifies and reports on environmental health and safety concerns.
17. Able to maintain a 75% or higher on employee scorecard.

We are hiring a Family-Based Mental Health Worker to join our ESFT (Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy) team. This is a highly supportive, two-clinician model that provides intensive therapy to children and families in their homes, schools, and communities. The Behavioral Health Counselor provides a full range of integrated casework, including psychosocial assessments, person-centered treatment planning with a harm reduction orientation, evidence-based clinical interventions, advocacy, and referrals to individuals who present with a variety of mental health concerns, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and concerns around gender identity and sexual orientation. They must be proficient in trauma-informed assessments and treatment.
As part of the essential functions of this role, the Behavioral Health Counselor:
Conducts initial psychosocial assessments either on-site and provides initial treatment recommendations, and collaboratively with the patient develops a personalized treatment plan with emphasis on evidence-based practice within a harm reduction orientation.
Provides resources and referrals as indicated to facilitate achievement of a patient's treatment goals.
Provides psychotherapy and crisis intervention to individuals and families who are dealing with a variety of issues, including but not limited to mental health, including trauma, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic medical conditions including HIV, HCV and issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity
Adheres to program expectations and requirements surrounding productivity, documentation timelines and standards, and overall quality of patient care
Works within an integrated treatment model coordinating treatment with both internal and external providers as indicated
Will serve as a role model for positive, productive, and cooperative relationships with staff and clients
Adheres to Office of Mental Health regulations and Evergreen Health policy and procedures, including regulatory timeframes on clinical documentation using an electronic medical record
Maintains confidentiality of all treatment records
Qualified Candidate will have a Master's degree in social work (or similar), two (2) years of relevant experience, with NYS license required- LMSW or LMHC, LCSW preferred; candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills; candidate must have knowledge of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders; experience utilizing electronic medical records software (Medent) strongly preferred; sensitivity to and experience with underserved populations is essential.

Position Overview:
As a Mental Health Counselor with limited permit, you will collaborate and provide individual, group, and/or family therapy to a diverse client population, helping individuals navigate emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Youll work closely with a team of licensed clinicians and receive regular supervision to support your growth toward full licensure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling services.
- Conduct intake assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and agency requirements.
- Collaborate with clinical supervisors, peers, and external providers.
- Attend regular supervision and staff development meetings.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all client interactions.
- Gain increased hands-on experience, develop clinical skills, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we
serve.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.
- Working toward LMHC.
- Eligible for or currently holding a Limited Permit or provisional license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to culturally competent and trauma-informed care.
