Do you have the education and experience to be a Family Engagement Specialist I?
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Public Health, Human Services, Communications, Counseling, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in family support, grief counseling, or a related field, preferably in healthcare or organ donation settings.
Backgrounds that demonstrate advanced interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and the ability to guide individuals through complex, emotionally charged decisions
Knowledge of the organ donation process and relevant regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
Ability to navigate sensitive and complex situations with professionalism and poise.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data management systems.

Summary
The Residential Coordinator member is responsible for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and coordinating program activities to meet the needs of program residents. The Residential Coordinator collaborates with Program staff to provide the optimal level of care for each resident. Specific tasks include medication disbursement, daily reporting, meal preparation, household maintenance, Bible or curriculum studies, spiritual care, transportation, de-esculation, and crisis intervention.

Essential Functions
Maintain order and safety for all residents, volunteers, staff, and visitors

Prepare Welcome Kits for new residents and complete the orientation process with them, including property searches, drug screens, and intake paperwork
Review and practice program policies and expectations regularly with residents
Conduct drug testing and room searches as needed
Oversee medication disbursement and complete medication logs daily, including any medication changes
Support residents with needs such as filling and pickup of prescription refills
Explore and organize resident outings while maintaining adherence to the allotted budget and schedule
Model behaviors that encourage personal wellness
Maintain healthy boundaries with residents and staff
Facilitates and oversees group activities, prayer, and curriculum work, as needed
Transports and accompanies residents to appointments, reporting comprehensive post-visit summaries

Secures information such as medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to a student's situation and evaluates these and the student's capacities.

Helps students to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self, personal issues

Compiles records and prepares reports, meeting required deadlines in a timely manner.
Review the service action plan and perform follow-up inquiries to determine the quantity and quality of services provided to the student and the status of the student's case.

Secures supplementary information such as free and reduced lunch status, discipline reports, grades, and other school data reports necessary to assess the student's needs accurately.
Actively involve volunteers in their areas of interest and expertise.

Effectively meeting the objective of the CIS-Crisis Intervention program through individual mentoring and/or counseling and/or organized group sessions.
Organizing and maintaining student case files in compliance with the Perfect File Checklist as outlined by CIS.
Plan, organize, and implement program design to meet the needs of the students and families effectively.
Relate, motivate, and encourage students, parents/guardians and/or administrators, faculty, and staff.
Have knowledge of Southeast Harris and/or Brazoria County resources.
Must be able to interact positively with a diverse group of individuals of the school, city, and state entities.
Compile and submit reports and information in a timely manner.

SUPERVISION

EDUCATION
Masters Degree is strongly preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
LICENSE
Licensure in either psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three years experience in a work setting. Must be able to work with students and parents of low and medium incomes and interface with various school and community members.

As assigned, complete phone triage, documents calls, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
Clerical Duties
Compile information for patient charts including scanned documents such as record release, consent for care or treatment, letters for correspondence of care, legal documents necessary for care, etc.
Manage sample medications including keeping a log of medications available, expirations dates, and the contact information for drug representatives who provide the samples. Ensure the medication sample cabinet is locked at all times. Dispose of expired medications per set guidelines.

You should have the following skills:
Work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure excellent patient experience. Coordinate with other departments for patient care.
Must maintain composure in environments of elevated stress to include but not limited to professionally and calmly handling crisis situations in the form of telephone calls or in person to determine appropriate next steps in the assessment process.
Knowledge of behavioral health services/treatments, medications and mental health scales.
A minimum of one year of progressively responsible support services work preferred.
Position prefers individuals to be a registered or certified Medical Assistant. Ongoing CEU credit requirements must be met yearly, if applicable.
