What Does A Residential Instructor Do At Progress Industries

* Teach, train, and assist personsserved with ISP goals, preparation and serving wholesome and nutritious meals, purchasing of personalitems, budgeting monies, medication management, to use community resources andinteract in the community, and transportation needs.
* Assist with evaluating person servedperformance utilizing various assessment tools.
* Attend Individual Support Plans (ISP)meetings and give input which support the needs, wants and dreams of persons served.
* Be familiar with all case files andindividual support plans of all persons served.
* Abilityto maintain a calm and flexible demeanor when confronted with disruptivebehaviors.
* Be responsible to assist withdeposits, utilities, phone, cable, change of address when moving.
* Maintain accurate records that relateto the ISP objectives, budgets, and charting of behaviors and medication of persons served.
* Provide positive and wholesomeinstruction and supervision to persons served.
* Keep informed of all programming andadministrative changes.
* Document all incidents and properlyrecord and submit the forms used.
* To maintain the files of persons in aneat and orderly manner.
* Provide a supportive and therapeuticatmosphere for all persons served and assist in providing the best conditions for the general health ofthe persons served.
* Safeguardsand promotes individual rights by maintaining confidentiality, encouraging individuals to make informed and responsible choices regarding his/heractivities and behavior.
* Responsibleto immediately notify manager regarding emergency situations.
* Maintain housekeeping standards andvehicle maintenance schedule, as required.
* Never leave persons served unattendedunless stated in their ISP.
* Participate in staffmeetings and in-services as assigned.
* Have adequate computer skills to complete job duties as assigned
