Job Mission
The mission of the End User Support Specialist is to provide comprehensive technical support to all Northland employees, both onsite and remote, ensuring seamless operation of their provisioned equipment, including mobile devices (phones, tablets, laptops). This role also involves troubleshooting and resolving issues related to various in-house and cloud-enabled services and applications.
The primary focus of this position is end-user support, acting as an escalation point for other support staff. Responsibilities include administering systems to manage account authentication, permissions, and policies to deliver a reliable service experience for all users. Key tasks include user account provisioning using Active Directory and Office 365, configuring and deploying LTE-enabled devices, and providing remote administration and phone support for travelling or remote staff.
Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the broader IT team to develop efficient policies that improve resolution times and reduce SLA durations. The End User Support Specialist will also participate in small-scale projects to gain exposure to server-side administration and assist with larger-scale initiatives led by the Infrastructure team. This may include hardware specification and procurement, planning hardware refresh cycles, and supporting enterprise-wide IT initiatives.
The role also encompasses project-based work such as policy development, facilitating workshops, and delivering hands-on training sessions for staff to enhance their technical proficiency. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
+3 years of End-user support/Service desk support in an enterprise environment
Experience creating and maintaining a knowledge base and runbooks for various services
Imaging and configuring laptops for new user provisioning, as well as setting up endpoints using Microsoft Intune.
Ordering, configuring, and issuing end user hardware (Dell laptops, Apple and Samsung smartphones)
Experience with MDM management solutions (Intune/Apple Business Manager)

Work with existing vendors and advise on cost savings and emerging technology solutions for employees
Assist in developing policy and documentation for IT support
Document processes as needed.
Provide support for remote staff in EMEA and APAC regions as needed, off-hours on-call support for urgent or time-sensitive requests

The SJRA is a public entity whose mission is to develop, conserve, and protect the water resources of the San Jacinto River basin. Its primary purpose is to implement long-term, regional projects related to water supply and water quality. SJRA delivers raw water to both municipal and industrial consumers and provides water treatment and wastewater services through the ownership, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure including reservoirs, groundwater wells, surface water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, and miles of open channel and conveyance systems.
Position Summary
The Network & Systems Administrator manages, configure, maintains, monitors and enhances IT infrastructure systems; server administration, operation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting; provides server hardware installation builds; maintains tight integration of Domain, File, and Application Servers; Maintains User Directories and Unified Communication; installs and maintains LAN+WAN hardware/software; evaluates LAN+WAN hardware/software requirements and capabilities to make recommendations; communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups and downtime to users; installs hardware and peripheral components as needed. This job requires attention to detail, discretion, good judgment, good interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence.
Designs, configures, implements, operates and maintains servers, storage nodes and network infrastructure devices according to policy and practice of the SJRA.
Maintains hardware and software for server platforms; supports and maintains Active Directory; evaluates hardware and software system components to enhance SJRA infrastructure.
Monitors and maintains physical and virtual server environment.
Conducts and verifies regular backups utilizing industry leading backup and recovery technologies.
Configures, implements, operates and maintains core networking devices such as switches and routers.
Plans, executes, and verifies system backup and recovery processes.
Troubleshoots, isolates and researches networking problems; recommends solution and escalates the issue when necessary.
Provides support to end users in LAN and Wireless Network administration and usage; installs and maintains LAN hardware/software, including servers, peripherals, network attached storage nodes, network devices, terminals and wiring.
Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to design of network architecture, integration and installation.
Maintains overall network stability; prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layout.
Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware/software.
Performs other duties deemed appropriate and as assigned by his/her direct supervisor, appropriate Department/Division Manager, the appropriate Senior Manager, or the General Manager, including duties outside of regular business hours.
This position is classified as secondary essential personnel. The individual holding this position will be required to work as required in (1) preparation for an emergency event and/or (2) during recovery from an emergency event as directed by their direct supervisor, Department/Division Manager, the appropriate Senior Level Manager, or the General Manager.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
At least 3 years' experience in server technologies including Windows and Linux, Microsoft 365, storage and backup technology is required.
Experience with server virtualization, Active Directory, blade servers, server enclosures, switching and routing technology and principles, Cisco and Juniper routers, backup and Disaster Recovery concepts and practices, Firewalls, VPN devices, wireless networking technology and principles, TCP/IP, DNS, project management with third-party applications, knowledge of security functions and hardware/software installation is required.
Texas Driver's License with Insurable driving record Required.
Cisco Certified Network Associate preferred.
Microsoft MCP, MCAF, MCAAA preferred.
