At Resources for Human Development, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. Our team is passionate about providing compassionate care and support tailored to each person's unique needs. We are currently seeking motivated and caring individuals to join us as per diem Direct Support Professionals. Per diem DSPS are eligible to work at different shifts and different locations throughout the Penn Hills area. Shifts are typically 7 am to 3 pm, 3 pm to 11 pm, and awake overnites 11 pm to 7 am. You only need to work one 8 hour shift a month in order to stay in our per diem relief pool.
Community Passages is a community-based residential program designed to provide a homelike environment for individuals with developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses, many of whom present significantly challenging behaviors and most of whom previously resided at state centers and hospitals. Residents develop life skills, increase their self-esteem, and are empowered to make choices for themselves. Person-centered planning, self-determination, and personalization foster individualized programs in an open and safe environment that encourages consumer empowerment and personal growth.
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and providing emotional support and companionship.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support clients in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
· Foster a positive and respectful relationship with clients while promoting their independence and personal choices.
· Assist clients in developing skills for everyday living and participate in social and recreational activities.
· Document client progress and maintain accurate records of care and support provided.
· Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus.
· Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related field preferred.
· Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required for the position).
· CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
Must participate in all onboarding requirements including criminal background and driver's record check.

Full-Time schedule - 2nd shift or 3rd shift with weekend availability needed.
CSG's Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD/ASD) Services is excited to offer a 2 week paid orientation for this position. Orientation includes the necessary foundational training needed before providing services in the programs and sets you up for a successful career at CSG. Orientation is held in-person at our Mountville, Williamsport, and Bethlehem offices. Mileage reimbursement is provided for orientation related travel.
Wage Information:
Base rate of pay $17/hr. for awake hours with the potential to earn up to $21/hr. depending on location and shift.

Assist adults in the development of appropriate life skills necessary to reach their highest level of potential including interaction with others, cooking, housekeeping, money management, personal hygiene, and other skills in appropriate settings.
Support the individuals' preferences and ensure their interests are honored.
Actively search for opportunities for those you serve to experience life in their homes and communities based on their hobbies and interests utilizing community resources to promote community integration, independence, and Interdependence.
Help individuals reach their goals to be more independent by offering guidance, instruction, and role modeling.
Completes all required documentation including electronic health record in an accurate, timely, and professional manner.
Collaborates and cooperates with involved agencies, family members, and other service providers; participates in meetings and provides relevant information.
Provides support and assistance to individuals in arranging for medical care when responsible to do so and follow health care recommendations including individuals to follow all dietary guidelines as recommended.
Conducts fire drills, manages emergency situations during assigned work shifts, and provides coverage in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
18 years of age or older.
Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individuals to appointments.
Administers medication and treatment as permitted under regulations.

The Work:
Develop, oversee and modify the initial, annual and all updates to the assessment for each individual, so that each individual has a current accurate assessment of skills and needs
Facilitate the development, implementation and on-going follow along of a Person-centered Plan for each individual supported.
In collaboration with an individual's team, develop annual Individual Support Plans that meet the specific needs and desires of each individual, and monitor implementation and content of the plans.
Monitor and ensure the consistency and regulatory compliance of all clinical documents.
Develop, educate staff, and monitor implementation of Behavioral Support Plans, plans to address Social, Emotional, and Environmental Needs (SEEN) and Crisis Management Plans that address the unique support needs of each individual using Supported Living services.
Support the individual's team around issues, such as, but not limited to: behavioral incidents, psychiatric hospitalizations, coaching through difficult situations, crisis management and skill training.
Provide the assistance, education, and support to employees that enable them to provide habilitation services and teach people the skills needed for individuals to remain independent and self-sufficient in the community.
Act as Point person for EIM investigations as needed.
In collaboration with an individual's team, develop plans to assist individuals to find safe, affordable housing, develop and maintain landlord relationships, develop and maintain a budget and manage finances to support living in the community, utilize generic resources, increase opportunities to develop friendships, maintain and strengthen family relationships, increase participation in desired community activities, and find and maintain meaningful employment.

Minimum Educational Requirements:
(One of the following)
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) year's work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities.
A master's degree or above from an accredited college or university and one (1) year work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities.
Additional Minimum Requirements:
At least 18 years of age
Basic computer skills with the ability to utilize internal software programs.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Successful completion of required trainings within specified timeframes, including First Aid and CPR certifications and others mandated by regulations.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a caregiver that supports adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a community based setting while maintaining sensitivity to the rights and dignity of the individual. The DSP in a community program is responsible for developing and facilitating individualized programs of functional, social, and daily living skills instruction to promote independence, interdependence, and community integration. This instruction may occur in group situations and/or is individually scheduled, and it can be implemented in the person's day services setting, and/or community settings. The DSP reports directly to the Program Supervisor.
This position is part of our Adult Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Day Programs.
Positions are FT 40 hours per week, 1st shift, no weekends or holidays.
CSG's Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD/ASD) Services is excited to offer a 2 week paid orientation for this position. Orientation includes the necessary foundational training needed before providing services in the programs and sets you up for a successful career at CSG. Orientation is held in-person at our Mountville, Williamsport, and Bethlehem offices. Mileage reimbursement is provided for orientation related travel.
Wage Information:
Starting wage $17 per hour with increase possible based on relevant IDD experience.

The Work:
Develop, oversee and modify the initial, annual and all updates to the assessment for each individual, so that each individual has a current accurate assessment of skills and needs
Facilitate the development, implementation and on-going follow along of a Person-centered Plan for each individual supported.
In collaboration with an individual's team, develop annual Individual Support Plans that meet the specific needs and desires of each individual, and monitor implementation and content of the plans.
Monitor and ensure the consistency and regulatory compliance of all clinical documents.
Develop, educate staff, and monitor implementation of Behavioral Support Plans, plans to address Social, Emotional, and Environmental Needs (SEEN) and Crisis Management Plans that address the unique support needs of each individual using Supported Living services.
Support the individual's team around issues, such as, but not limited to: behavioral incidents, psychiatric hospitalizations, coaching through difficult situations, crisis management and skill training.
Provide the assistance, education, and support to employees that enable them to provide habilitation services and teach people the skills needed for individuals to remain independent and self-sufficient in the community.
Act as Point person for EIM investigations as needed.
In collaboration with an individual's team, develop plans to assist individuals to find safe, affordable housing, develop and maintain landlord relationships, develop and maintain a budget and manage finances to support living in the community, utilize generic resources, increase opportunities to develop friendships, maintain and strengthen family relationships, increase participation in desired community activities, and find and maintain meaningful employment.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

We have Full time openings in the following areas in West Mifflin, Cheswick and Ross Park areas. Full time is 40 hours a week, and the established shifts vary. Our days are split into 7 am to 3 pm shifts, 3 to 11 pm shifts, and awake overnights from 11 pm to 7 am. Full time employees choose from a selection of great benefits, and earn paid time off! The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the safety and supervision of our consumers with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, and Behavioral health histories to facilitate healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based sites. This position will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residentially based interventions and assist the clients in achieving their clinical assignments. The DSP is responsible for fulfilling the obligations as outlined in the client's program plan. The DSP will prompt or assist, as necessary, to ensure the clients participate in the activities of daily living, in both the home and the community. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed
Provide supervision of individuals in accordance with the person-centered ISP; supporting someone to work towards outcomes identified in ISP and other Person-Centered Support Plans

Administer Medication
Provide transportation to consumers
Support consumers in activities of daily living, meal prep, toileting, hygiene, as appropriate
Assist in Community Integration Activities and access to community Supports including medical appointments, social security access, etc.

Requirements
High School diploma or GED is required, associates or bachelor's degree is preferred. You must be able to provide proof of your education
Basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications like emails, time recording and other programs to enter and retrieve data as necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
Prior experience in the human services field, preferred.
