Facilitates patient discharge to home and provides patient and family education. Provides clinical assistance in the orientation of new employees and students on clinical rotation. Provides education to all clinical team members to include physicians and nurses at the bedside and informal classroom setting. Maintains Basic and Advanced certifications as appropriate to assigned areas such as BLS, ACLS, FCCS, PALS, and NRP. Skillfully establishes and maintains artificial airways in emergencies. Conforms to infection control policies and procedures. Participates in quality improvement projects as requested. Facilitates patient discharge to home and provides patient and family education. Provides clinical assistance in the orientation of new employees and students on clinical rotation. Participates in education programs as requested. Maintains BLS certification. Conforms to departmental and hospital policies and procedures and can readily locate when the need arises. Provides leadership to staff in the absence of the Lead Therapist. Demonstrates the ability to resolve difficult situations with finesse and skill. Ability to prioritize delivery of care when the need arises. Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills and assures all documentation is accurate, legible and in accordance with department policy. Can effectively use hospital information systems skillfully and complies with security-related policies. Plans workload to complete assigned treatments and procedures within AARC time standards. Follows up on all patients transferred out of their assigned units to assure proper handoff and continuation of care. Prepares equipment and participates in the coordination of patient transports both in and outside the hospital. Operates and troubleshoots all equipment in the primary area of responsibility. Cleans assembles and restocks equipment in assigned unit or floor. This position is as a member of the Slate Team within Enrollment Management, which serves all system users through system enhancements, updated functionality, training and support, and guidance on Slate best practices. The Technologist may be asked to specialize in certain system aspects or functional unit support. Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: SLATE DEVELOPMENT: Develop, implement, and support the continued deployment, growth, and optimization of Slate to address the business needs of the university and its stakeholders. Configure and customize Slate to meet high standards required for student and user experience. Document business requirements and translate them into system needs, including creating development plans, and outcomes. Support requirements designated at the institution or University System level for technology use. USER SUPPORT: Serve as support and a champion for all Slate users. Provide regular, in-depth training to users, maintaining training resources available on demand. Communicate system enhancements and updates in non-technical terms and provide training and documentation on data entry procedures. Collaborate with faculty and administrators to understand functional needs and advocate for system enhancements to meet those needs. Maintain thorough documentation, including system configuration, to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing.
