Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall clinical, technical and administrative functions at the location on record regarding the Pediatric Home Respiratory Therapist program.

Is responsible for maintaining records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, preventative maintenance records, and other necessary documentation.
Is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of all Sleep Management/Vie Med assets and supplies.
Is responsible for company vehicle maintenance and service (paid for by Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a Vie Med).
Ensures that company vehicle is maintained per applicable accreditation standards at all times.
Is responsible to ensure all pertinent demographic information is updated regularly and with any change in personal or professional status.
Is responsible for the overseeing of all applicable regulatory rules and guidelines as pertains to the Pediatric Respiratory Therapist.
Is responsible for orientation and training of subordinate or newly hired Pediatric Respiratory Therapist staff.
Exhibits effective written and verbal communication skills. Adheres to cost-containment policies and procedures.
Works with the office staff to ensure prompt and accurate billing and documentation of services, including providing adequate information to satisfy third-party payor guidelines for coverage.
Works with all clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote and market Pediatric Home Respiratory services to all referral sources.
Ensures proper, accurate, and safe operation of all equipment prior to installation.
Is required to provide availability for patient contact and response to patient needs as described in the policy and procedure manual.
Will work with team members (other RTs, PCC's and various departments) to insure tasks completed.
Will work with fellow Pediatric Respiratory Therapist in the area on a rotating on-call schedule or request call coverage from Area Clinical Manager with other Respiratory Therapist with Pediatric competency requirements met.

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Administers therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to: aerosol therapy, intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB), oxygen therapy, postural drainage and percussion, incentive spirometry, adult and pediatric mechanical ventilation, tracheal suction, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Competent in the performance of EKGs.
Competent in the performance of EEGs.
Performs other testing procedures to include Holter monitoring, EKG stress testing, and pulmonary functions.
Accurately documents patient care given in respiratory therapy progress notes.
Performs preventive maintenance including cleaning, sterilization, and minor repairs on all department equipment.
Maintains departmental procedure logs; files EKG and respiratory therapy records; copies reports and delivers to patient's medical record.

Licensure/Certification: Current State of Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license required. Current registry by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred. Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment, before patient care is administered independently. Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support & NRP certifications required within 12 months of hire.

Service:

Respiratory Support Technician
This position provides direct and indirect patient care and services in the home, office, and hospital environment in accordance with all governmental, accrediting, and organizational policies and procedures. Job Duties:
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current Respiratory Programs and HME products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations.

Identifies need for Pulse Ox testing to recertify or qualify O2 services per insurance regulations.
