Each Temporary/Relief Respiratory Care Practitioner shall be in compliance with 8 CCR 5199 standards for both current N95 and Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) medical clearance and annual general respiratory protection training which is to include a request to repeat PLHCP clearance if they develop 1) marked immunocomprompromise or pregnancy which might require great respiratory protection than N95s provide or 2) a health condition which might limit N95 or PAPR use and completion of the annual 8 CCR 5199 Appendix G questionnaire. 5. Temporary/Relief Respiratory Care Practitioner providing services to the Correctional Facility must be proficient in the English language and be able to communicate effectively with the Correctional Facility. All Temporary/Relief Respiratory Care Practitioner must be able to speak, understand oral and written communication and write effectively in the English language. Any Temporary/Relief Respiratory Care Practitioner who fails to meet the minimum qualifications shall not be permitted to perform services. Service Delivery Requirements Under the direction of the Institution CEO/CME or designee, the Temporary/Relief Respiratory Care Practitioner shall provide services as permitted within the scope of practice for Respiratory Care Practitioner services in accordance with Institution/Facility policies and procedures. The Respiratory Care Practitioner must be able to work in conditions that require all of the following essential functions: a. Perform care consistent with generally accepted evidence based practice; b. Set up equipment and provide instructions for use of equipment for each patient/youth per established policy and procedure; c. Perform complete medical evaluations of patient either during regularly scheduled clinic hours or upon request for consult by either the CEO/CME or designee and make appropriate recommendations for treatment to the referring physician, CEO/CME or designee; d. Maintain all charting on a daily basis. Any chart remaining delinquent for more than ten (10) days could result in termination of this Temporary/Relief Respiratory Care Practitioner; e. Aid in the development and updating of policy and procedures related to respiratory therapy; f. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities: Utilizes various sources of information to attain greater competence about his or her position, including attending educational events (including attending optional in-services) and asking questions. Utilizes acquired knowledge to increase his or her competencies. Consistently demonstrates ability to adequately complete all documentation and charting procedures in compliance with company policy and procedures. Maintains complete and accurate patient files by updating all documents per company policy and procedures. Reviews Plan of Treatments and Care Plans to assure they are accurate and up to date. Moving from out of the area? We offer relocation reimbursement to support your transition. This is an inpatient position within Saint Francis/St Mary's hospitals Rehabilitation Services department. The Staff Occupational Therapist (Occupational Therapist 2) reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Staff Occupational Therapist works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. The Staff Occupational Therapist with specific pediatric competencies and clinical experience may also work with infants, children and/or adolescents. Under general direction and upon receipt of licensed approved provider written referrals, the Staff Occupational Therapist plans and administers a full range of occupational therapy services for patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations. Services include patient evaluations using various physical, cognitive, visual/perceptual, psychosocial, and developmental tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing occupational therapy techniques. The Staff Occupational Therapist demonstrates practice competence managing patients of varying clinical acuity and complexity. The Staff Occupational Therapist may seek mentoring for novel clinical presentations or areas of specialty practice for which the Staff Occupational Therapist is not experienced or certified. The Staff Occupational Therapist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services, is organized in work habits, and demonstrates effective time management skills. While performing job duties, the Staff Occupational Therapist may also supervise Occupational Therapy Students, Occupational Therapy Doctoral Fellows, and Rehabilitation Aides. The Staff Occupational Therapist participates in regular professional and clinical development activities, completing 40 hours or more per year. As a member of the clinical care team, the Staff Occupational Therapist also participates in and may lead compliance, quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives in the department, local care setting, and organization. Certification in Hand Therapy Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program Prior experience providing patient care in acute care hospital and acute rehab/IRF patient care setting. Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team License/Certification • Possession of or proven eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of California. • Possession of or proven eligibility for AHA BLS certification.
