Assess oxygen saturation and use of pulse ox. Be able to assess ventilator patients and work with ventilator. Complete treatment and ventilator check in a timely fashion. Notifies supervisor of any facility concerns or needs. Completes TARs at the end of each month checking for accurate information. The ability to assess for decannulation and weaning. May participate in a wide variety of special projects. Resolves routine problems and communicates solution to appropriate personnel. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to work independently in a consulting capacity. Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team. Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization. Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations. Ability to organize a schedule and work to meet facility needs. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills.

Title: Respiratory Therapist Department: Respiratory Under the supervision of the cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician's orders, protocols, department policies and procedures. Duties and responsibilities Maintains knowledge of the various methods of oxygen delivery, including the necessary equipment. Remains alert to and assesses possible side effects to oxygen delivery. Administers various respiratory therapy treatments, understands the purpose of each and the possible side effects associated with each. Sets-up and monitors mechanical ventilators and the associated critical care duties required for such treatment, such as airway management and tracheal suctioning. Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation. Makes appropriate physician contact for intervention. Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostics including oximetry, and arterial blood gas. Performs CPR as required, including maintaining the airway. Documents all the pertinent data on the patient's medical record following completion of any service. Performs EKGs, reports to physicians who requested them and files report according to department procedures.
