    requires working every other weekend and every other holiday. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To follow cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly) as outlined. To clean assigned areas, movable and stationary furnishings, wall fixtures, lights, mirrors, and windows according to established procedures. Disinfects and polishes where required. Removes and disposes of trash. Waters house and resident flowers/planters. Vacuum and spot clean carpeting. Cleans bathrooms (resident, public, and private). Replenishes supplies. Straightens/rearranges and inspects furnishings. Cleans walls, ceiling, ceiling fixtures and window blinds as scheduled. Spot cleans between washings. Cleans stairways, entrances and exits. Removes for laundry and re-hangs curtains, drapes, and dividers. Performs cleaning duties to resident rooms when discharged and prepares room for new occupant. Performs cleaning duties in isolation units. Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects, and malfunctions on a work order and to the Supervisor. Maintains a clean and well kept housekeeping cart. Attends In-services and staff meetings. Cross train in Laundry. Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts. Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization. Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor, Designee. WORKING CONDITIONS: Well lighted and ventilated institution. Must stand, walk, and bend most of the working day. The class runs approximately 4-6 weeks. At the conclusion of the class you will be required to take the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide exam (NNAAP) within 120 days in order to be considered for continued employment. The Certified Nurse Aide provides the activities of daily living care to the residents under licensed staff supervision Essential Functions: * Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information. * Complies with established policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices. * Assists in or provides for the maintenance of individual personal hygiene, i.e., bathing, shaving, changing clothing, nail care, toilet needs, etc. * Provides clean, dry linen and make beds to meet resident needs. * Encourages proper resident nutrition by serving food promptly and assists with feeding when necessary. * Performs resident treatments as assigned by the Team Leader and within the nursing scope of practice. * Records resident information concisely, accurately, and completely, and reports to the Team Leader objective observations of change in resident condition or need. * Actively participates in resident care planning. * Promotes the activity of daily living according to the resident's care plan. * Resident lifts and transfers will be done according to the resident's care plan and the Lift Free Program. * Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor. Qualifications: * Ability to lift and transfer 30 pounds of resident weight frequently (30 times) throughout the shift. * Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout an eight (8) hour shift. * Organizational skills and ability to do sequential events. * Listed on the state registry as a Nursing Assistant within 120 days of employment. * Motivation and desire to work with geriatric persons. * Ability to speak English at a level the residents can understand. * Ability to read and write in English to carry out functions related to the care plans and provides appropriate resident care. Physical Requirements: Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8 hour shift; bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout the shift in performing regular duties. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of resident weight and/or transfer and reposition a resident at least 25 times throughout the shift. Must be able to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in response to the unexpected behavior of residents either during lifting or repositioning or during other frequent occasions when having direct contact with residents. Must be able to handle the physical transfer of residents from unsafe to safer locations in the event of a fire or other disaster. Ability to do sequential events/tasks.

Performs assigned clerical duties at nursing station. Answers telephone and intercom. Runs errands as directed by supervisor. 4. Participates in unit cleaning duties, such as cleaning of wheelchairs and gerichairs, which are not or have not been performed by housekeeping personnel, as directed. 5. May perform other duties as directed by supervisor. WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Well-lighted and ventilated rooms, halls, and nursing station. 2. Exposed to infection, odors, and peculiarities in behavior. 3. Sits, stands, and walks intermittently throughout the workday. Bends, stoops, lifts, pushes, pulls, etc… QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
