ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs maintenance on repair, preventive, replacement, and new installation basis. Coordinates work of maintenance department with other department functions so as not to interrupt patient care of normal business functions. Inspects all equipment and systems regularly for proper function and safety. Inspects building and grounds regularly for compliance with local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations. Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program works to provide veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help have them 'practice ready' by their first day in practice. Externships are typically 2 weeks long and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed. Length of externship is flexible & we can support your preceptorship documentation as well. Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems. Essential Functions: * Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information. * Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices. * Assists in a program of preventative maintenance that keeps equipment functioning properly and buildings in good repair. * Assists in making repairs to the electrical and plumbing equipment. * Assists with snow removal and groundskeeping as needed. * Responds promptly to requests from residents and staff regarding maintenance problems. * Responds immediately to all facility emergencies and is familiar with all emergency equipment and procedures. * Assists other departments in special projects and tasks of a heavy nature. * Rotates being on-call on off hours. * Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor. The class runs approximately 4-6 weeks. At the conclusion of the class you will be required to take the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide exam (NNAAP) within 120 days in order to be considered for continued employment.
