What You Will Do
As an Associate, Food Scientist at Chomps, you will play a key role in researching, developing, and enhancing our meat snack products and processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create unique formulations, optimize existing recipes, and ensure the highest standards of quality and taste. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science and a passion for creating high-quality products.
Responsibilities
New Product Development:
Lead the development of new meat snack products from concept to commercialization, considering factors such as taste, texture, nutritional profile, and cost.
Recipe Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
Conduct research and experiments to enhance the flavor, texture, and overall quality of existing products.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve product formulations and manufacturing processes for better efficiency and product quality.
Collaborate with the production team to scale up successful formulations for mass production.
Identify and implement improvements in production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Work closely with operations to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring consistent product quality.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure consistency and adherence to Chomps' quality standards.
Conduct sensory evaluations and analyze consumer feedback to drive continuous product and process improvements.
Ingredient Sourcing and Evaluation:
Identify and evaluate new and sustainable ingredients that align with Chomps' commitment to clean, natural, and ethically sourced materials.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay informed about food safety regulations and ensure all products meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, production, and sales teams to align product development with market trends, consumer preferences, and business goals.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of formulations, experiments, and process changes.
Prepare reports and presentations on product development progress and findings.
Who You Are
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Meat Science, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in product development and process improvement within the food industry, preferably in meat snacks or related categories.
Strong knowledge of food chemistry, sensory evaluation, and formulation principles.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality assurance protocols.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Able to Travel up to 50% of the time.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $85,000 + 15% annual bonus

Navigating multiple systems and balancing several interactions at once, staying accountable for accurate, timely, and empathetic resolutions.
Assuring the accurate and timely handling of client and member calls with total follow through
Answering client and provider questions including, but not limited to claims payment, status and coverage information
Educating customers on their plan and encouraging use of our digital tools-helping them learn how to navigate healthcare more confidently.
Interpreting client health plan protocol
Reviewing claims status and providing status to member.
Check tracer documentation
Maintaining accurate and complete call documentation
Maintaining high level of professionalism
Returning incoming calls
Solving questions about benefits, claims, eligibility, and providers, collaborating across teams when needed.
Safeguarding privacy at all times-strictly following HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
Documenting thoroughly, taking ownership of issues, and following through until every customer feels heard and supported.
Qualifications
What you'll need to have for success
At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare contact center.
3+ years of customer service experience overall.
Associate or Bachelor's degree or recent work toward a degree is preferred.
Prior experience working across multiple customer service channels such as calls, chat, text, and email.
Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and pivot quickly across multiple systems.
Strong communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
A calm, professional presence in high-volume situations, with empathy as a core strength.
Schedule
• Core business hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Central Time).

Purpose of Position: We will rely on you to make sure each guest receives prompt and reliable service.
As a Food Service Associate you will need to have a strong commitment to teamwork, good communication skills and can adapt well to change.
Food Service Associates are responsible for:
Maintaining the store to the needs of management while giving excellent customer service to each guest
Completing customer transactions by scanning products or manually keying price into register, finalizing sale and collecting payment from customer
Ensure compliance with age restricted products such as tobacco, alcohol and lottery
Prepare food and beverage in a manner to meet customer expectations
Familiarity with food handling, safety and other food service guidelines
Maintain a clean and organized store, register area and backroom
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
Properly operate cooking equipment
Maintain cleanliness outside of the store
Ensure all deliveries are made according to company policy
Maintain safe/secure environment adhering to company safety methods
Properly record time worked
Complete daily paperwork/record-keeping
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
0-6 months' work experience
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must successfully complete company training
Physical Requirements:
Ability to traverse all parts of the location quickly
Prolonged periods of standing on a hard surfaced floor
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds at a time
