Andrés Irlando is senior vice president and president of public sector and Verizon Connect for the Verizon Business Group. Verizon public sector strives to enable governments through best-in-class networks, solutions, and customer experience to serve effectively their constituents and achieve their missions. Verizon Connect provides comprehensive mobile workforce, fleet management and software solutions for businesses of all sizes and consumers. Its SaaS platform supports both factory-equipped and aftermarket vehicles in more than 40 countries around the globe. Prior to his current role, Andrés was CEO of Verizon Connect. He also served as region president for Verizon Wireless in the Southwest Region where he was responsible for the company’s sales, operations, financial performance and customer experience. Prior to his time in the Southwest Region, he held the position of vice president for the West Area, responsible for wireless customer service operations. Andrés began his career at Verizon in 2005 as a director in the Pacific Region, responsible for overseeing the company’s government, regulatory, and external affairs as well as philanthropy. He would go on to be named president of Verizon’s New York Region, where he represented the company’s corporate interests in New York and Connecticut. Prior to joining Verizon, Andrés held positions in government at the local, state, and federal levels. In the private sector he practiced law at a corporate firm and served on the management team of a dot com start-up. His philanthropic experience includes leading a national not-for-profit foundation. Andrés earned a doctor of jurisprudence from Stanford Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College. He served eight years as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve.
