Position Summary/What You'll Do Lead municipal engineering initiatives-zoning, utilities, planning, parks, and more-while serving as a trusted advisor to municipal clients. You will ensure projects meet objectives, regulatory requirements, and community needs, all while developing and maintaining long-term client relationships. Your Opportunity Stantec is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager, to provide technical leadership for our clients and staff on a variety of Power sector projects. This position will be part of Stantec's Environmental Services team that provides the full range of expertise needed to address a variety of projects, including support to public utilities, new electric transmission and rebuild projects, project access road planning and design, civil/environmental substation and battery storage facility design, and solar site/civil/stormwater due diligence and design development. Your Key Responsibilities Assist with development and implementation of strategic business/action plan, provide leadership, and deliver results to expand Stantec's environmental practice specifically related to assessment and remediation opportunities. Serve as a key member of the practice team to drive profitable growth across service lines (natural resources, assessment permitting and compliance including Section 401/404 of the Clean Water Act and NEPA, ecosystem services, stormwater management, and water resources management) in the Eastern US. As a senior consultant, contribute to business development of Stantec's environmental services practice, including Identify and develop new opportunities including preparing effective technical proposals, and taking an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. Supporting power sector work in compliance and permitting throughout the mid-Atlantic. Executing environmental permitting strategy, developing regulatory strategy, and directing environmental field surveys and construction compliance for a variety of projects. Completing and/or overseeing permit application preparation, including gathering supporting documentation, conducting environmental assessments, and coordinating comment response with agencies. Managing information development, wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat characterizations, Section 106 studies, land use mapping and vegetation cover classification, GPS data collection, consultations, permitting, and report Preparing technical reports for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ), Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US Fish and Wildlife Service, and other federal, state, and local agencies. Planning, organizing, and managing the production of project deliverables to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and within budget Executing multiple projects concurrently. Mentoring junior staff. Directing subcontracted services and managing project budgets, schedules, and teams. Performing quality assurance/ quality control reviews of environmental deliverables. Performing and/or overseeing Environmental Compliance Monitoring and coordinate inspections, staffing, and record keeping. Project management including coordinating work efforts and the preparation of deliverables reports, client stewardship and coordinating with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. Provide technical and regulatory guidance/support for development projects in the pre-project, permitting stage, and post-approval stage of site development Prepare budgets and identify tasks while carrying out project work within agreed time-frames and on budget and within the Stantec PM framework. Communicate and collaborate with other Stantec professionals to ensure consistency in project execution and delivery. Participate in and lead team and independent based work Supporting and ensuring implementation of Stantec Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation. Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business Your Capabilities and Credentials Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to client's business needs. Must demonstrate effective resource planning, results delivery, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation. Strong understanding of federal and state regulations and permitting requirements including the required supporting documentation. This position will be part of Stantec's Environmental Services team that provides the full range of expertise needed to address a variety of projects, including support to public utilities, new electric transmission and rebuild projects, project access road planning and design, civil/environmental substation and battery storage facility design, and solar site/civil/stormwater due diligence and design development. Your Key Responsibilities Assist with development and implementation of strategic business/action plan, provide leadership, and deliver results to expand Stantec's environmental practice specifically related to assessment and remediation opportunities. Serve as a key member of the practice team to drive profitable growth across service lines (natural resources, assessment permitting and compliance including Section 401/404 of the Clean Water Act and NEPA, ecosystem services, stormwater management, and water resources management) in the Eastern US. - As a senior consultant, contribute to business development of Stantec's environmental services practice, including Identify and develop new opportunities including preparing effective technical proposals, and taking an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. - Supporting power sector work in compliance and permitting throughout the mid-Atlantic. - Executing environmental permitting strategy, developing regulatory strategy, and directing environmental field surveys and construction compliance for a variety of projects. - Completing and/or overseeing permit application preparation, including gathering supporting documentation, conducting environmental assessments, and coordinating comment response with agencies. - Managing information development, wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat characterizations, Section 106 studies, land use mapping and vegetation cover classification, GPS data collection, consultations, permitting, and report - Preparing technical reports for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ), Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US Fish and Wildlife Service, and other federal, state, and local agencies. - Planning, organizing, and managing the production of project deliverables to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and within budget - Executing multiple projects concurrently. - Mentoring junior staff. - Directing subcontracted services and managing project budgets, schedules, and teams. - Performing quality assurance/ quality control reviews of environmental deliverables. - Performing and/or overseeing Environmental Compliance Monitoring and coordinate inspections, staffing, and record keeping. - Project management including coordinating work efforts and the preparation of deliverables reports, client stewardship and coordinating with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. - Provide technical and regulatory guidance/support for development projects in the pre-project, permitting stage, and post-approval stage of site development - Prepare budgets and identify tasks while carrying out project work within agreed time-frames and on budget and within the Stantec PM framework. - Communicate and collaborate with other Stantec professionals to ensure consistency in project execution and delivery. - Participate in and lead team and independent based work - Supporting and ensuring implementation of Stantec Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation. - Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business Your Capabilities and Credentials - Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to client's business needs. - Must demonstrate effective resource planning, results delivery, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation. - Strong understanding of federal and state regulations and permitting requirements including the required supporting documentation. - Proven ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships. - Knowledge of documents related to requests for proposals, invitations for bid, and tendering offers. - Work effectively in a team environment. - Project and task management experience with strong attention to detail. - Demonstrated team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative. - Excellent technical writing, organizational, and communications skills.
