SCOPE: Responsible for applying assembly skills necessary to perform basic functions for custom fire and rescue vehicles; Utilizing power and hand tools to complete each task with optimum efficiency. Electrical: Basic Wiring and installation of lighting and other electrical components. Mechanical: General assembly and installation of mechanical components, accessories, and hardware on vehicles. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Must be able to ensure manufacturing, quality, and safety requirements are met. * Work from schedules, manuals, wiring diagrams, shop orders, prints, pick lists, BOM's, photos, and instructions; will become familiar with schematics. * Identify and understand basic plumbing, electrical and mechanical components that are commonly used in assembly. * Review shop orders and similar materials to determine requirements. Retrieve parts, materials, and supplies from staging location. * Must be able to operate hand and power tools. * Must be able to participate in LEAN and continuous improvement activities. OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed to maintain work flow or respond to production requirements. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Air and power driven tools including but not limited to: Hand Drills, Drill press, Impact gun, Grinders, Die Grinders, cut off wheels, DA Sanders, Dynafiles, wrenches, air guns, heat guns, and Stud Welders; Fork Truck training and operation required. POSITION EXPECTATIONS: * SAFETY: Follow E-ONE General Health & Safety Rules, ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility, and notify coworkers and supervisors of hazardous acts and conditions. Proper use of PPE; use only defect-free equipment. Promote safety in department. Use proper lifting techniques and overhead hoist when needed.
