About the Role & Compensation:
Lead dynamic academic support tutoring sessions (90%)
Share educational progress with students and families (5%)

Part-time: 12-hour delivery target with 16 hours of availability or 20-hours delivery target with 24 hours availability, including evenings and weekends
Pay: $20 per hour for tutoring; prep and training time compensated at $10 per hour or your local minimum wage (whichever is higher)

Schedule Requirements
Availability: Post at least 16 or 24 prime-time hours weekly, the same hours every week. Our goal is to book you for 12 or 20 tutoring hours per week respectively depending on student demand.
Prime-time Hours when availability should be posted:
Mon-Thu: 4-10 pm ET
Sat: 9 am - 6 pm ET
Sun: 11 am - 10 pm ET
Weekends: At least 8 hours of availability on Saturday and/or Sunday is required.
Advance Planning: Preference will go to those who can post schedules 9+ months ahead and those who can commit to consistent hours week on week. Please submit time-off requests 4 weeks in advance.

The English as a Second Language (ESL) Tutor works under the direction of the Public Schools of Brookline's ELE Director to provide tutoring in English acquisition skills for students at one private school. The tutor supports each student's language development, with a focus on vocabulary use, reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension. The ESL Tutor motivates students to apply their growing language skills in each school subject area and in their social interactions.
DUTIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Provides English language tutoring in vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking throughout the school day per the schedule designed by the Principal or their designee in collaboration with the tutor (must be available between 8:00 am to 3:00 pm);
2. Continuously monitors students' understanding of the tutoring content and adjusts instruction as needed;

Position Summary:
The role of the Early College Academic Tutor is to support students' academic learning and achievement in early college coursework. The ideal candidate should possess excellent instructional skills to provide academic support to students in a variety of early college course offerings, including but not limited to Social Ethics, Composition, and History. Additionally, tutors may provide ELA, Science, and Math tutoring to build preparedness for early college courses. Ongoing support and intervention are provided via a multi-tiered system of support model and includes developing individual, small-group, and whole-group instructional scaffolds, academic tools, and lessons. Academic tutors will visit early college classrooms during office hours, support blocks, study halls, and after school tutoring sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred, consideration will be given to candidates who are classified by credit hours as a second-semester junior, with a minimum of 3.0 GPA
Valid Massachusetts Secondary Teaching License preferred
Teaching or tutoring experience in an urban setting preferred
Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity; proven experience in teaching students from diverse backgrounds

Provides direct tutoring on high school campuses for students through classroom visits, pull-out meetings, and office hours during and after the school day
Tracks and monitors student progress of students on current caseload, adjusting tutoring strategies as needed to meet individual student needs
Creates and maintains an up-to-date schedule of tutoring sessions and organized study groups; includes student attendance at all tutoring sessions
Coordinates school-based aspects of early college tutoring and communicates scheduling with early college staff and early college administrator
Performs administrative tasks such as collecting, organizing, and disseminating statistical data; maintains and update student data/tracking for students on tutoring caseload
