The Project Manager will work on general aviation and non-hub commercial service airports. Projects include federal and state funded airport improvement programs as well as locally funded projects at public and private use airports.

Design experience on FAA and State DOT aviation projects within an assigned client base.

Responsibilities
Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large-scale institutional, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
Help build and lead a team of civil engineering professionals.

Assist in project task scope, budget and schedule management.

What You'll Do:
* Responsible for direction and supervision of the development, monitoring, and management of the operating budgets for the departments within the Group and coordination with the office's budget.
* Responsible for the oversight of the group (multiple departments) activities, establish priorities, and assign staff to projects. Collaborate with other groups, offices, and divisions on work-sharing needs and opportunities.
* Drives the implementation of the firm's strategic plan and HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA) process on project pursuits and markets with the Group and office, including development of strategic planning strategies.
* Drives the implementation of the firm's contracting HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA) process through project delivery and contracting activities including scope, work plan, and fee reviews for all contracting activities impacting the group.
* Drives the implementation of the firm's project delivery HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) process including Work Planning, Monthly Project Reviews, and other project performance methods to ensure quality work, on time, on schedule, to the client's satisfaction.
* Assists in marketing responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities.
* Maintains client contacts to ensure client satisfaction. Leads and assists in sales and marketing efforts for department's growth.
* Assists in the development and execution of the office strategic plan. May participate on the Office Leadership Team (OLT.)
* Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of department staff within the group, including supporting Department Managers with the development of plans for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession planning.
* Project Delivery - Actively manages assigned project management activities (project scope, schedule, budget, and quality management) and performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications, and plan preparation.
* Leads a group including the direct and indirect supervision of at least 25 but typically 35-40 or more employees.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or relevant degree and 12 years relevant experience, or
* In lieu of education, 16 years of relevant experience.

As a Civil Field Engineering/CEI Inspector, you will monitor the contractor's on-site construction activities and inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents on road and bridge construction projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain detailed records of the contractor's daily operations, including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work
Monitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues
Monitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues
Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work
Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work
Inspect the construction work and conduct field tests
Track/measure completed work quantities for payment
Perform survey checks
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field from an ABET-accredited university
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in the specified time frames
Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions
