General Responsibilities: Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data including soil and groundwater to develop conclusions concerning the environmental and geologic site conditions. Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects. Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils including boring investigations and soil type classification. Interpret soil, bedrock and groundwater elevation and quality data. Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments and remediation activities. RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of Transportation Projects throughout the firm. In this role, you'll work under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers on projects of all delivery types, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3, and other Alternative Delivery Transportation projects. You'll assist in preparing roadway design plans using OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and contribute to technical reports, modeling, and plan production tasks. *Fully remote candidates will be considered for this role. Essential Functions Lead or support technical design on a wide range of alternative delivery transportation projects (e.g., highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors). General Responsibilities: Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel). Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor's representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results. Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas. May assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites. Adhere to strict safety standards.
