EXPERIENCED DUE DILIGENCE PROJECT MANAGER needed in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. Share your experience with our team as we develop real and actionable solutions for our clients. Conducting Property and Facility Condition Assessments are the main task for this position. Site visits may require overnight travel. Looking for a professional who can provide quality, detailed reporting for our clients. Some projects require teams and others are completed individually. Assessments cover the built structures and cash reserve tables for upcoming repairs to be included in the reporting. General Responsibilities: Diagnose and develop repair/restoration solutions for the built environment. This includes all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure. Projects range from property condition assessments to detailed evaluations of structural systems, roofs, facades, plaza deck and below grade waterproofing systems, MEP systems, pavements, industrial floors, and construction materials. Assessment techniques include, visual examination, non-destructive testing, instrumentation and load testing, laboratory testing, and destructive examinations. Client deliverables range from reports of findings and recommendations to development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: * Mid-level Facilities professional responsible for managing and executing routine and sometimes more complex, small to medium-sized projects. * Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates assessments, inspections, data collection and testing of property, buildings and roofs. * Assists in the preparation of client proposals, cost estimates, as well as routine and complex client deliverables. * Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. * Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in building science or related building field and 5-7 years' experience in facility assessment. Or, in lieu of a degree, 9-11 years' related experience. * Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to learn other software applications. * Experience using tablets and other electronic devices. * Able to work remote from home as well as while traveling. * Travel could be up to 50% of the time. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Skills and Requirements: B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering. M.S. degree welcomed. 5-10 years of environmental engineering and/or consulting experience. Professional engineering registration in core discipline, or ability to obtain within one year. Experience with the full range of an environmental project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, budgetary cost development, detailed design, and contractor selection. Experience with remediation systems, including water pumping and treatment, vapor extraction, construction dewatering, permitting and contractor management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with clients, senior project engineers and staff. Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software. Proficiency in AutoCAD is expected. Ability to travel for site visits and client meetings across the U.S. PLC & HMI Programming experience is preferred, but not required. OSHA 40-hr. General Responsibilities: Responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely project registration, billing, collection and procurement practices for an engineering consulting firm. RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of Transportation Projects throughout the firm. In this role, you'll work under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers on projects of all delivery types, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3, and other Alternative Delivery Transportation projects. You'll assist in preparing roadway design plans using OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and contribute to technical reports, modeling, and plan production tasks. *Fully remote candidates will be considered for this role. Travel will be necessary as required by the project. Essential Functions Lead or support technical design on a wide range of alternative delivery transportation projects (e.g., highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors). Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions. Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders. Develop and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design reports using OpenRoads Designer (ORD). Participate in proposal development, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations. Mentor junior engineers and support career development within the project team. Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable standards and client requirements. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging alternative delivery methods. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Eight (8) + years of experience in transportation infrastructure design. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of VA or the ability to obtain within 6 months Proficient in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway design and modeling. Demonstrated experience on Design-Build, P3, CM/GC, or similar alternative delivery projects. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with dispersed teams. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience working directly with contractors on design-build teams. Familiarity with DOT standards and procedures (experience with multiple state DOTs is a plus). Prior experience leading technical task teams or managing portions of large projects.
