Starting Pay Range: $18.00 Starting pay based on location, unit, and/or client needs. Location: Memphis, TN area About the Float DSP/Caregiver position These positions exist to assist designated units with staffing needs such as vacancies and census above budget through the placement of experienced direct support professionals (DSP). These positions provide support for individuals and/or groups of persons with disabilities in the community. Assists the person(s) receiving services in identifying and communicating his or her requests and needs for services and supports. Implements services and supports to address the person's goals and desired outcomes as identified through each person's Centered Plan. Seek to understand the individuals in the context of their personal history, their social and family networks, and their hopes and dreams for the future. Relies on direction and supervision to accomplish the job. General Float Pool Overview: Float DSPs must commit to 4 shifts (8,10, or 12hr) at multiple units per 2-week schedule (one on a weekend shift). Float DSPs must work two out of the six winter dates listed here: Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Eve (nights)/Black Friday (days), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. Float DSPs must work one of these summer dates: Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day. Float DSPs are not allowed to receive any special pay or bonuses (paid by other units) except for their base pay as mandated by Human Resources, unless approved by leadership. Float DSP positions are temporary and based on need. Position Requirements Float DSPs hired must have a minimum of 2 years of direct caregiving experience in an IDD setting; with behavioral health experience preferred for some units. Float DSPs will be expected to complete all required training and competency checklists for the homes, clients, or units they may work in. Float DSPs are responsible for keeping all required licensure, certifications and CPR certification current. Float DSPs must complete all required RHA and unit specific annual competencies when due and this information should be recorded in Workday. Work requirements will be reviewed every month to determine continued eligibility for program. Must be able to pull a minimum of 50lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The knowledge base of professional counseling includes theories of biological, psychological, and social development; diversity and cultural competency; interpersonal relationships; family and group dynamics; mental disorders; addictions; impacts of illness, trauma, or injury; and the effects of the physical, social, and cultural environment. This knowledge is inculcated in counseling Maser's level graduate program and is fused with direct-practice skills that are developed by the practitioner during a period of at least two years of post-graduate experience under clinical supervision. This period should suffice to prepare the clinical social worker for autonomous practice and state-licensure as a clinical social work professional. Revising the BSP or skill acquisition plan in a timely manner based on attainment of goals/objectives, lack of progress, or other indicators. 14. Preparing for and participating in the Journal Club for professional development. 15. Providing training and supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) according to standards of the department and the standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), including documentation requirements of the latter. 16. Adhering to all professional and ethical standards as set forth by the BACB. 17. Providing the level of service authorized for each case and meeting minimum monthly unit completion goals as set forth by SSTN. 18. Providing Telehealth services, as clinically appropriate and allowed by funding agencies, according to best practice standards derived from peer-reviewed research and discussion articles in ABA. This includes obtaining informed consent prior to initiation of such services. 19. Maintaining credentialing as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and licensure to practice in the state of Tennessee. 20. Participating in planning meetings for an assigned caseload of individuals. 21. Maintaining effective communication and cordial professional relationships with state officials, support coordinators, supported persons and their families/conservators, SSTN employees, other BCBAs behavior specialists, and RBTs outside of SSTN, and other relevant stakeholders. 22. Completing all tasks as assigned by the Statewide Director of Behavioral Services, Chief Operating Officer, and the Chief Executive Officer. 23. As requested, participating in the Incident Management Committee, and assisting with the risk assessment process. 24. Completing all training required by DDA and MCOs in a timely manner. 25. Advising SSTN leadership regarding behavioral issues. 26. Providing direction and guidance to staff persons for purposes of bringing resolution to acute behavioral crises, which may include the use of response blocking or other appropriate physical intervention techniques for safety purposes. The Behavior Analyst is supervised by the Statewide Director of Behavioral Services. OTHER FUNCTIONS: 1. Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of SSTN. 2. Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe work environment. Successfully completes all required SSTN training, including training pertaining to safety and (as requested) behavioral crisis intervention. 3. Ensure that SSTN Quality Management principles (Plan, Measure, Assess, Improve) are practiced and achieved. 4. Operates SSTN and personal transportation in a safe and lawful manner. 5.
