The Retail Lead role is instrumental in supporting the daily operations and overall success of RISD`s independent retail stores. This position ensures shift preparedness, product availability, presentation, and customer service meet established standards. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the needs of an arts and design community and foster a cohesive and effective shift through clear communication, problem-solving, and regular check-ins with team members and leadership.
Essential Functions/Duties:
Is an active member of the store's shift team. Responsible for hands-on cashiering, stocking, cleaning and problem solving associated with shifts.
Executes opening and/or closing procedures, documents any related information for reference.
Performs physical walk throughs to ensure that the venues and team are ready to welcome guests and maintain continuity of experience throughout the shift.
In the absence of Assistant Manager, delegates work assignments, conducts pre-shift meetings prior to service, problem solves, and communicates relevant shifts happening via established communication channels.
Ensures proper operational supplies are available, instructs staff on POS, ensures cashier stands are set up and hardware is working, assists with end of shift reports, and reports any scanning or pricing issues.
Ensures standardized procedures and checklists are used consistently & correctly.
Supports the eCommerce inquiries, order fulfillment and distribution
Submits buyer-approved order replenishments to vendors via established systems, by phone and/or email, adhering to appropriate procedures.
Assists with taking inventory counts, maintaining and ordering of supplies as needed and as directed.
Assists with receiving and maintaining storage areas.
Proficient in utilizing all features associated with POS technology, addresses issues promptly following established recovery procedures.
Participates in the training of new staff on POS to ensure consistent outcomes
Complies with PCI standards for system usage.

Ensures orders are processed and fulfilled through various customer ordering platforms throughout their shift, as needed.
Monitors waste and supply usage, and makes recommendations to streamline and standardize practices.

Education/Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
A minimum of 3 years retail experience, with a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience. Experience with art supplies preferred.
Strong background in retail service: product knowledge, presentation, and service. Ability to read and write in English. Multilingual preferred.
Practicing artists with practical knowledge of materials application preferred.
Experience working with POS systems and inventory management systems.
Experience with receiving, purchasing & inventory management systems preferred
Valid driver's license preferred.
Required to take RISD PCI compliance class.

Essential Functions:
In support of RISD Dining's mission and values, the incumbent may be called upon to perform any one or a combination of the following functions listed below:
Sets up and opens any Dining location campus-wide. Ability to move from one auxiliary operation to another on a daily basis, as needed by the department, ensuring that all food items and supplies are available and presented for the day's business. This includes, but is not limited to:
Preparation of condiment and coffee station(s), brewing appropriate coffee amounts and selections as predetermined by each location and checking/filling all condiments from cups/lids to soy milk/honey.
Posting menus and prices and familiarization with ingredients in each menu item
Receiving, stocking and properly displaying items pertaining to that operation.
Waits on a heavy volume of customers in a timely and courteous manner, representing RISD and the Dining department professionally and knowledgeably to a diverse clientele including students, faculty, staff, museum visitors and the general public. Adheres to established customer service goals and standards.
Follows all opening and closing procedures for proper cash handling. This includes maintaining cashier's log and verifying cash drawer prior to and at the end of each shift and proving out daily receipts.
Follows specific procedures for ordering and receiving products at each location to maintain desired inventory levels.
Keeps all areas clean and restocked. Ensures that all front-of-house areas are properly maintained by wiping, washing, sweeping and picking up debris.
Ensures that all health code procedures are followed. This includes but is not limited to: temperature management, personal hygiene and sanitation.

One to three years of progressively responsible experience, in restaurant, college or café-style food service is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
* Develop, implement, and maintain policies, workflows, and processes for accessioning, appraising, arranging, describing, preserving, managing, and providing access to physical and digital archival materials in accordance with archival standards, best practices (including inclusive description), and library and institutional policies.
* Build relationships with offices, programs, and initiatives across campus to effectively administer the records management program for all college and museum departments; maintain records retention schedules; ensure transfer of permanent records to archives and timely disposition of temporary records.
* Develop and implement a plan for the storage and stewardship of physical collections in a wide range of formats that facilitates access and preserves materials for long-term use.
* Identify endangered materials within the archives collection, prioritize for conservation or other preservation, and work with the library director to identify funding for the work to be completed.
* Collaborate with offices across campus, create opportunities and campaigns to identify and collect first-hand accounts and related ephemera of enduring value to the college that reflect the broad range of cultural perspectives, lived experiences and identities of the RISD community, including, but not limited to the production of oral histories.

Applicants must be capable of critically implementing new curricular offerings in conceptual, and/or narrative-based approaches to image-making. We are seeking an artist with an eye on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligences (AI) and an understanding of the various factors affecting contemporary illustration.
Joining a full-time faculty of fifteen, the new faculty member will also work alongside 46 active part-time faculty who represent an unusually broad scope of engagement in artistic and professional practice. In addition to teaching, professional practice, academic advising and college service, full-time faculty members contribute to the life of the department in a variety of ways, including involvement in curriculum development, strengthening our community of more than 360 students, and working on special initiatives that benefit the department, both public facing and internal.

Essential Functions:

Conduct initial incident investigations, gathering information by interviewing and obtaining statements from witnesses, victims, and suspects, securing physical evidence and filing detailed reports using a computerized report system while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Perform periodic inspections of systems and facilities such as call boxes, alarms or street lights to ensure proper function and prevent failure.
Work assignments in the Dispatch center and/or fixed security posts within a residential building utilizing camera system surveillance.
Effectively operate and maintain all assigned equipment including, but not limited to; radios, uniforms, computers, vehicles, medical supplies.
Actively participate in college events designed to foster the relationship between the Department and members of the RISD community.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical and psychological examinations, insurance and driver's record check, and National Crime Records check and must be fingerprinted.
The incumbent is required to become a State of RI licensed EMT and to complete the RI College & University Public Safety Training Academy (or equivalent training as determined by the Director) within two years of the date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Must complete Field Training and Evaluation Program to include training in CPR/First Aid, safe driving practices, OC spray, defensive tactics, expandable batons and handcuffing procedures within timeframe as approved by the Director.

Ensure the proper use and cleanliness (inside and out) of catering motor vehicles, which includes fueling and updating/maintaining a mileage log sheet. Report repairs needed to the Catering Manager.
Makes daily deliveries for catering.

Must hold a valid driver's license.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a keen attention to detail and visual presentation are required.

Essential Functions:
In support of Dining and Catering's mission and values, the incumbent may be called upon to perform any one or a combination of the following functions listed below:
