In 1936, Sidney A Jones joined the Rialto Police Department.

1938

In 1938, Fred Litka won the election for Rialto constable.

1939

In 1939, the police department employed only two sworn officers.

1945

In 1945, the police department employed four sworn officers and serviced five square miles with a population of 3,000.

1963

In 1963, Ray Farmer joined the Rialto Police Department.

1973

It was dedicated in November 20, 1973 in the name of Chief Sidney A. Jones.

1997

Dennis retired from the Rialto Police Department and became chief of police at Atascadero PD in 1997.

1998

He came from Oakland PD and was appointed Rialto’s chief of police on May 4th, 1998.

2000

In February 2000, Michael founded the Inland Empire Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). In June, 2000, he was appointed to the California Attorney Generals Civil Rights Commission on Hate Crimes.
