Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full estimates on large and complex projects as required by client's documents Analyze and negotiate contractor change orders and claims on behalf of the client Consult with clients, architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions, and resolve issues. Support the development of energy and sustainability analysis Perform miscellaneous other job-related duties as assigned, which may include value engineering and progress review conferences Requirements Ability to develop estimates at multiple phases from early design through to construction. Knowledge of, and proficiency in discipline-related systems Four-year degree in a related field At least five (5) years of experience as a construction cost estimator is required At least three (3) years experience with a contractor during the construction phase of a project is strongly desired. Proficient with M365 OFFICE suite and collaboration tools Proficient utilizing automated estimating tools including CostOS, On Screen Takeoff and Bluebeam Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and clients Strong desire to learn or expand upon new methods and software. Requirements Essential Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in the civil engineering field. (Preferred) Strong knowledge of civil engineering techniques. Ability to perform basic to advanced mathematics required for estimating. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings. Ability to learn and easily be trained on the Estimating Model. Experience in using Excel and Word. Must have computer experience. Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test. Some sites may require a TWIC card. Climbing multiple flights of stairs without assistance. Working Conditions: Primarily indoors with environmental controls. Some job walks on client sites may be required, which could be indoors or outdoors. Physical Requirements: Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs without assistance. Physical fitness and stamina to perform job walks on client sites, including walking or standing for extended periods.
