Position Summary The Company & Stage Manager ensures that the day-to-day operations and public performances of the Shepherd School of Music's Opera Department are executed with excellence and professionalism. This position serves as Stage Manager for opera productions, concerts, opera scenes programs, auditions, and other voice-related events and special projects as assigned. The Company & Stage Manager coordinates all travel logistics, including flights, lodging, ground transportation, and itineraries for guest artists. This position serves as a key member of the production leadership team, liaising with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and patrons on a daily basis. The Company & Stage Manager reports to the Director of Opera Studies and works closely with all members of the opera department staff, including the Director of Operations and Director of Production for Opera. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses exceptional time management and organizational skills. They are collaborative, adaptable, and thrive in a dynamic artistic environment. Workplace Requirements This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in person at Brockman Hall for Opera. Available to work nights and weekends as required. Position Summary: The Cohen House Steward provides routine and event-driven housekeeping and stewarding support for Rice University's Faculty Club. Duties include daily cleaning of offices, restrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, and public areas; dishwashing support; trash and linen removal; floor care; and maintaining sanitation and organization in both front-of-house and back-of-house spaces. The Steward also assists with bussing tables during lunch service, flipping rooms for banquets, and supporting event setup and breakdown. This position works closely with the culinary team, banquet captains, and event staff to ensure Cohen House is clean, guest-ready, and maintained to Rice Hospitality standards. The Steward may be required to unlock and secure the building, report maintenance issues, and perform special custodial and event-support assignments as needed. The incumbent is expected to report to campus, provide designated essential services, and work under the direction of the Crisis Management Team for the duration of the emergency. The selected candidate will teach graduate level social work courses in the MSW and Ph.D. program while participating in meaningful service at the College, University, and professional settings. This role requires working a 12-hour night shift, Wednesday through Saturday, from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with a 4-hour shift on Wednesday.
