Construction began in 1962 for the seventh addition, which, sadly, included removal of the last portion of the original building.
The eighth addition plans to the Hospital opened in 1975.
By 1986, “The Lawrence House,” located on Second Street across from the hospital, was remodeled to be used as a hospital operated Learning/Day Care Center for children of hospital employees.
In 1987, the hospital purchased the house on the southeast corner of the hospital block, owned by Marie Carberry, and converted it into the Fiscal Services Annex.
By 1988, a hospital wide renovation program began that would take a number of years to complete.
Doctor Pitts died in 1991 at the age of 97.
In 1992, the obstetrics unit was remodeled and renamed the Birth Center.
In 1995, BroMenn Medical Group was developed, consisting of primary care medical clinics in five communities and some specialty practices.
In 1997, the Carberry, Ewers, Uzuanis and Rydberg houses were moved off hospital property and the Karlstad and Bailey houses were demolished to make way for the upcoming building project.
In 1997, the old high school was purchased from the Richland School District and was demolished.
In March 1998, after two years of planning, Baptist Medical Center merged with their largest local competitor, Richland Memorial Hospital.
In 1998, administration offices were moved to the Schoonover house, following renovation, to allow remodeling.
An agreement was reached for the purchase of the Kraska house, next to the administration building, in 1999.
By 2000, The Richland Hospital, Inc. and Richland Medical Center worked collaboratively to achieve the vision of a single healthcare campus for ambulatory and inpatient care.
In 2001, the first of many major renovations took place, with adding a 25 apartment independent living facility, upgrading many departments and adding a 10,000 square foot clinic.
In September 2005, Pitts began serving Prisma Health Richland (formerly Palmetto Health Richland), a 649-bed level 1 trauma center, tertiary care facility and regional community teaching medical center.
In 2006, thanks to great community support, the Douglas M. Kraemer Community Care Center opened.
In June 2007, the Richland Community Free Clinic, Inc. began operating as a unique Wisconsin 501(c)3 corporation in space held under the long-term lease maintained by Richland Medical Center.
In April 2009, Newberry County Memorial Hospital came online with PACS utilizing Pitts Radiology's PACS.
In 2011, the board of directors announced they would integrate with Carle Foundation Hospital.
Soon after, excavation of the site began with construction beginning that winter and continuing for the better portion of 2011.
In July 2012, a multi-million dollar surgical suite and emergency department renovation was completed, including four new state-of-the-art inpatient rooms.
The new Muscoda Health Center opened its doors on October 1, 2012 and an open house was held on October 18th to celebrate.
On November 1, 2012, the integration became official and the hospital was renamed Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center.
In 2012, the Richland Hospital was recognized as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the United States for the second consecutive year.
In 2014, Prisma Health Baptist Parkride Hospital, a 76-bed state-of-the-art hospital opened.
In 2016, Carle and Richland Memorial began exploring full integration to increase access to healthcare services and providers in southeastern Illinois. It began its relationship with Carle Foundation Hospital in 2014 as a clinical affiliate.

In 2016, Carle and Richland Memorial began exploring full integration to increase access to healthcare services and providers in southeastern Illinois.
The board of directors of both voted unanimously to approve the integration, which became official on April 1, 2017.
In 2018 a formal agreement was made to provide air ambulance services to the entire county.

In 2020, all related facilities in Bloomington, Eureka and Normal, IL and in regional areas joined Carle Health.
2020 – FirstCarolinaCare and FirstMedicare DirectHealth Alliance provides administrative services for its affiliate, FirstCarolinaCare Insurance Company in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
