    Rio Foltz, PLLC is seeking an Associate Attorney to assist with the prosecution of municipal misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases primarily in Benton County District and Pasco Municipal Courts. We are a small, Kennewick-based law firm representing almost exclusively municipal clients seeking an Associate with excellent work ethic who enjoys working as part of a team. Prior prosecution experience, as an intern/extern or otherwise, is desired but not required. We also welcome applicants with Rule 9 eligibility who are awaiting their summer bar results. This position presents an excellent opportunity to gain trial experience under the mentorship of senior attorneys with a combined 40+ years of prosecution experience. We offer a generous salary range of $95,000 - $130,000 per year ($7,916 - $10,833 per month) depending on experience as well as paid health and dental benefits, a yearly vision exam, three weeks of paid leave per year (in addition to paid holidays), and a 3% yearly contribution to a 401k (contribution begins after six months of employment). Bar dues and training costs sufficient to maintain CLE credits are also paid. For Rule 9 interns, we offer an hourly salary of $30-$40 per hour depending on experience. *Responsibilities* * Review police reports, witness statements, and evidence for misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases and determine whether to file or proceed with charges based on evidence and applicable laws. * Represent municipal clients in all court proceedings including arraignments, pre-trial hearings, trial readiness, trials, probation hearings, motion hearings, and sentencing hearings. * Prepare legal arguments, motions, and trial strategies and present evidence, examine witnesses, and argue cases before a judge or jury. * Negotiate plea agreements within established policies and legal guidelines. * Conduct legal research on local ordinances, state statutes, and case law. * Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and memoranda of law. * Stay updated on changes to laws that affect municipal prosecution. * Advise police officers on legal procedures, case preparation, and appropriate charges. * Assist with providing training to law enforcement on courtroom procedures and legal standards. * Communicate with victims and witnesses to answer questions, obtain their input on cases, and/or prepare them for court testimony. * Ensure the rights of victims are protected and that they are informed of case developments. * Maintain accurate records of all case activity, filings, and outcomes in case management software. * Exercise prosecutorial discretion fairly and consistently. *Qualifications* * Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required. * Rule 9 Limited License or Washington State Bar License in good standing is required. * Must be able to pass a background check. * Prior experience in prosecution is preferred but not mandatory. * Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence in managing tasks. * Excellent work ethic. * A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Manage the entire regional Service Team (6+ Service Specialists and Technicians), meeting with team members frequently to discuss career development, performance, and morale, promoting an environment of empowerment and employee satisfaction. Frequently report service department status updates and manpower requirements to the Regional Operations Manager and proactively managing staffing levels to meet customer needs and project backlog. Collaborate with other regional teams (Deployment, Engineering, and Critical Projects) for manpower and resource sharing. Coordinate and communicate directly with the customer and other contractors in a professional manner. Onsite work to be performed in a high-security environment, following customer security policies and procedures. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Qualifications and Education: Four-year degree (ME / EE preferred) or Two-year degree / apprenticeship plus equivalent work experience or (5+ years) automation / controls field experience required. Tridium Niagara N4 Certification and Distech ECLYPSE experience strongly preferred, Siemens or Schneider experience a plus. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel required.
