About the Utility Aide Position: Under the supervision of the cook's supervisor, the Utility worker cleans dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and silver by hand or machine. The Utility Aide is responsible for assuring the dishwasher is maintained, changing the water, and cleaning frequently. The Utility Worker will also fill out dish temperature logs, transports tableware to proper places in dining rooms and kitchen, and clean work areas. He or she may assist in cutting, peeling, and washing fruits and vegetables for Cooks, pushcarts into various dining areas, and set food on steam tables. The Utility Aide is responsible for garbage removal from the kitchen areas and sweeping, mopping, and hosing down floors thoroughly at the end of the evening shift.
