As a RideOperator, you will:

PURPOSE The primary purpose of the Coastal Operator is to manage MOL (Americas) LLC's PCC and PCTC vessels. This includes arranging coastal schedules on the Atlantic Ocean while ensuring safe and cost-effective voyage planning. The Coastal Operator oversees MOL's business concerning vessels operating between U.S. East Coast ports, coordinating schedules, transits, and port calls. This role aligns the Master of Vessel with Agents, Stevedores, and Port Captains to ensure schedule integrity and compliance with corporate requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prepare and Manage Coastal Sailing Instructions: Ensure instructions align with Sashidate (Agency Appointments), Master Operator and Line Management directives.
Daily Communication Management: Manage communications from vessels, Master Operator, Agents, Stevedores, Port Captains, and internal customers on a 24-hour basis to keep all parties informed.
Operational Safety and Cost Efficiency: Ensure that operations are carried out safely and cost-effectively. Provide advice to Line Management on schedule options to balance competing priorities.
Voyage Planning and Weather Monitoring: Communicate with vessels regarding safe ocean passages and monitor the Fleet Weather Management System to assist with voyage planning as necessary.
Vessel Movement Monitoring: Monitor daily vessel movements and update the MOL scheduling systems. Coordinate with Master Operators and Line Management to maintain vessel schedule intentions.
Panama Canal Transit Monitoring: Advise and monitor vessels on Southbound Panama Canal transits.
Labor and Agent Management: Place Labor orders with Stevedores and keep agents, Masters, and Port Captains informed. Ensure that agent performance meets contractual requirements.
Bunker and Cargo Operations Support: Assist in managing vessel bunker requirements with the Bunker Team and Master Operator. Support Port Captains and the Vessel Planning department in monitoring cargo operations.
Port Operations: Attend vessel operations in port as required to assist with operational efficiency and quality control.
Support GM Operations and Contracts: Assist the GM of Marine Quality and Manager, Vessel Operations as directed.

Experience: A degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical or business discipline (e.g., marine transportation) or equivalent experience in the maritime industry will be useful but not necessary. A maritime background is required, with sea service preferred as a licensed officer on board deep draft vessels.
Technical Functional Knowledge: Broad understanding of shipboard vessel operations, including navigation, weather routing, principles of marine stowage, and vessel stability. Familiarity with
the operation of vessels, including systems and basic construction.
