84 Lumber rider job description

84 Lumber is looking for several strong part-time college students to assist with loading and unloading products. The candidates must be available a minimum of 2 days of the week, M-F, and be available from 7am to 5pm on those days. The candidate will ride along with the driver and will assist in unloading, windows, doors, millwork, and cabinets at the site. The distance from the lumberyard to the delivery site can vary from 2 miles to 120 miles depending on the delivery location. This position allows for ample time in transit to study or complete schoolwork. Once you arrive to the jobsite or the lumberyard you will be working hard and will need to be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis in all types of weather.

Truck Driver Helpers must maintain a professional image and be courteous to all customers. They are responsible for building loads for deliveries and maintaining a safe, clean and well organized lumber yard; loading and unloading of lumber and/or building supplies, and operating a forklift.Responsibilities/Duties

Work Environment
This position requires driving for long periods of time in a truck as well as working in the lumber yard. Truck Driver Helpers work near moving mechanical parts and in highly precarious places. This position can involve working outdoors or being exposed to wet, humid, extremely hot or extremely cold conditions. This position can be exposed to vibrations, airborne particles or toxic chemicals. There may be a risk of electrical shock.

Physical Demands
Requires frequent standing, walking, hearing, reaching with hands and arms. Also uses hands to grasp, handle or feel. This position also frequently lifts up to 80 pounds, climbs and balances.
