We are currently seeking to hire a Maintenance Coordinator to support the preventative maintenance, repair, and records tracking for vehicles, machinery, equipment, and facilities at the Weapons Survivability Laboratory (WSL) located on Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, CA. Specific duties include (but are not limited to): Perform preventative maintenance (PM), servicing, and repair of vehicles, equipment, and facilities as per DoD and OEM publications to ensure all assets are maintained in a safe and ready for use (RFU) condition. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, to include minor repairs, general housekeeping, and PM inspection cycles of all WSL equipment and facilities according to the Maintenance Plan. Perform general housekeeping of all storage areas assigned, and ensure contractor compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations for hazardous material (HAZMAT) storage/use and hazardous waste (HAZWASTE) disposal. Maintain all maintenance, servicing, and repair records for vehicles, equipment, and facilities assigned to WSL. Perform operational checks of all vehicles, equipment, and facilities as required by contract. Maintain records for load testing and mechanical inspections for weight and personnel handling equipment. Maintain library of vehicle and equipment technical manuals, replacement part catalogs, and historical records. Other tasking as required to support customer contract requirements Work Conditions: Day Shift, overtime may be required for this position. Position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted. Conditions will vary as most work will be performed primarily outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120. Must be physically capable of obtaining material handling equipment (MHE; forklift/manlift) certification, and complete training and certification within 90 days of starting employment. Must be physically capable to safely wear a respirator. Must be capable of working from heights using appropriate fall protection safety equipment. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of three years hands-on experience in vehicle and equipment PM and repair. Ability to interpret drawings, repair manuals, and PM schedules required. Attention to detail and administrative acumen to maintain PM schedule and provide weekly or as requested equipment status reports to management. Ability to coordinate maintenance activities with contractors, government, and vendor personnel for material support, HAZMAT, and major repairs when required. Prior experience with the safe and compliant use of HAZMAT, including storage and disposal. Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
