Key Position Details: Training is required Monday through Friday 8a - 430p for the first 3 weeks. * 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two-week pay period) * 8-hour, day/evening shifts: Workdays are generally 8-hour shifts between 645a -5p; Occasionally 1030a - 7p * Occasional weekends - Sat/Sun hours for Express Care Coverage : Responsible for greeting and welcoming patients in person. Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and enters information into electronic medical record. Principle Responsibilities * Greets and welcomes patient in person. * Collects demographic and insurance information. * Checks in or interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork. * Directs patient to their appointment or procedure. * May assist in scheduling add-on appointments. * Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results. * Obtains signatures from patients as needed. * Collects co-pay or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial programs available. Refers complex questions as needed. * Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues. * Assists patient in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department. * May gather medical record information from all departments for collection. * May mentor new staff. * Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications * Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description * 0 to 2 years of experience using computer including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Preferred Qualifications * High school diploma or GED * 0 to 2 years of customer service experience * 0 to 2 years of general office experience * 0 to 2 years of knowledge of the components of revenue cycle and health care insurance Physical Demands * Light Work: * Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $18.09 to $24.64 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
