RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center, is seeking a Master's level Social Worker or Counselor for the position of ROADs Mental Health Co-Responder at our Oak Ridge, TN, location. This Social Work or Counseling position will be part of the startup team for the ROADs (Road to Recovery) program which will create partnerships and significantly expand Ridgeview's work in opioid abatement. This position will be embedded with the Oak Ridge Police Department and will be regularly scheduled Monday-Friday, noon-8pm. The ROADs program will begin January 1, 2026.
For unlicensed staff, supervision is provided for paths leading to LCSW or LPC-MHSP.

REQUIREMENTS
A Master's Degree from an accredited institution in a mental health field is required. LCSW or LPC-MHSP preferred. Mandatory Prescreening Agent (MPA) or MPA eligible preferred. JOB DUTIES
The ROADs Mental Health Co-Responder will be part of a joint effort between the Oak Ridge Police Department (ORPD) and Ridgeview. The objective with this part of the program is to have a team comprised of law enforcement and a mental health professional to be able to jointly respond to issues in the community where there is a mental health or substance use component involved. This position will be a combination of ride-along, join-at-the-scene, and follow-up services for persons struggling with mental health and drug addiction who require a police response. The ROADs Mental Health Co-Responder will provide both on site and office-based assessments for individuals experiencing a psychiatric emergency. The ROADs Mental Health Co-Responder will provide crisis intervention, telephone consultation, linkage with community resources, and pre-screening admissions of emergency hospital commitments. The ROADs Mental Health Co-Responder will display positive interaction and communication with community agencies and other public relations activities.

School Based Behavioral Health Liaisons (SBBHLs) provide face-to-face consultation with classroom teachers to assist them in creating positive, trauma-informed classroom environments, to enhance the learning environment for children at risk of developing an emotional/behavioral problem or substance use disorder, or with serious emotional disturbance (SED). Training and education regarding childhood mental health and trauma-informed behavior responses in the classroom will also be incorporated in the consultation to assist the teachers in promoting a healthy teaching environment. Each SBBHL shall provide psycho-educational groups and other support as needed to youth identified by teachers and/or or other school officials. The SBBHL program will provide Liaison support between the family and the school and will, when invited, assist parents and youth with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process and with trauma-informed support plans. This position will draw on social work and counseling skills.
