Successful Site Engineering deputy will be a member of a focused team, who will interface with peer\-level team members, the Deployment Team Leadership and NT management to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available\. Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long time perspective; erroneous decisions would normally result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives\. This is a REMOTE WORK position which requires demonstrated leadership. engineering and design competency, in a utility or consulting environment for Electric Substation Projects with voltages up to 500 kV. Overview Responsible for technical leadership and oversight of substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US. Primary responsibilities include creating civil and structural design deliverables. Projects range in size, complexity, and voltage class from small equipment upgrades to large projects in transmission and distribution substations. The candidate may prepare, provide guidance, or assist in preparing and developing the engineering deliverables for electric substation projects. This position provides leadership and mentorship to other team members and contributes to the technical development of the group as well as the quality of our deliverables. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Utilizes understanding of the industry standard work practices, client standards, and/or other applicable guidelines to complete engineering designs. * Substation Civil/Site Design including site development, roadways, stormwater management, drainage, soil analysis, foundations, plans, sections, details, and bills of material. * Write technical reports summarizing site design, drainage designs, and foundation designs. * Review of topographic surveys, geotechnical reports and vendor drawings for acceptability and making calculations as required. * Act as project lead or independent reviewer for projects assigned. * Provide technical support for clients and support regional business development initiatives as a technical resource under the direction of the Department Manager. * Lead and mentor teams of engineers and designers and assume responsibility for their success on projects. * Support creation of proposals and scope development. * Work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in detailed electrical design and project management of utility substation projects. * Participate in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution. * Lead in the execution of engineering activities. * Calculations for studies and reports and preparation of equipment and installation specifications. * Coordination of design activities with other disciplines and groups. * Develop and improve processes, tools and technology within the organization. * Provide leadership, training and mentoring to other engineers and team members. * Regularly meet and correspond with clients or external partners. * Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers. * Conduct field visits for site walkdowns, constructability reviews, construction support, and other site meetings as needed. * Support business development and marketing initiatives. * Other duties may include 3D modeling/design, or industry/professional technical committee involvement. * Work with Project Management team to develop project plans and provide project updates.     SCA New Hampshire Conservation Corps Project Leader The SCA NH Conservation Corps Project Leaders (2) plays a crucial role in the success of the conservation program, working closely with the Trail & Program Operations Specialist and to train, supervise, and support three field crews of corps members completing technical trail projects, habitat restoration and visitor-use structure construction throughout New Hampshire. SCA NH Corps crews use traditional trail skills, carpentry skills, restoration techniques, and physical labor to complete an array of projects while camping on 11-day hitches. Typical projects include trail construction & maintenance, rock stairs, carpentry, bridge construction, impacted site restoration, invasive vegetation removal and historic preservation. The program works in partnership with New Hampshire State Parks and AmeriCorps and serves throughout the state including the White Mountain National Forest. The Project Leader is largely a field-based position spending approximately 80% of time traveling during the conservation service season to project sites. Location: Bear Brook State Park - Allenstown, NH Position Dates: 3/16/2026 - 11/6/2026 (Dates are slightly flexible) Key Duties & Responsibilities: As an SCA NHCC Project Leader you will serve as a teacher, supervisor, technical advisor, and role model for your crew. Facilitate team operations: tools & equipment, vehicles, worksite management, basecamp. Actively manage group dynamics and corps members' well-being in remote environments and at the Spruce Pond Camp program site. Actively manage project/member risk to maintain a safe work environment. Supervise and assist the work skills training of corps members. Manage the quality & technique of project outcomes. Promote leadership development within the team and evaluate success and potential. Manage relationships with agency partners and work collaboratively with public land agencies on program logistics. Ensure successful and timely completion of conservation service projects on public land. Assist SCA Trail & Program Operations Specialist in budget management and reconciliation. Represent SCA in a positive manner. Regular travel to work locations to support projects and camp with crews. Marginal Duties Assisting staff with vehicle maintenance and shuttling, facility cleaning and maintenance, after-hours member check-ins, equipment maintenance, and any other assistance needed by agency partners. Contribute to mid-season and end of season member evaluations, day-to-day budget management, and participate in periodic staff meetings. Required Qualifications: 1-2 years prior experience in supervising young adults in an outdoor setting. Previous trail construction experience and knowledge. Camping, hiking, and backcountry experience. Ability to perform manual, physical labor for up to 10 hours per day, exposed to the elements, and lift and/or move 60+ pounds. Ability to camp and hike for extended periods of time, up to 11-days. Ability to access remote work locations and travel over rough, steep, & rocky terrain. Experience/certification with chainsaw required - ability to recertify during the position. Strong communication, leadership skills and strong work ethic are required. Self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must understand, enact and uphold project, crew community, basecamp, vehicle, and additional safety standards set through SCA's policies Commitment to mentorship, teamwork, learning, and problem-solving.
