As a Quantum Engineer in the quantum integrated circuit design team, you will transform our quantum integrated circuit design and simulation workflow, enabling Rigetti to model increasingly complex and larger scale quantum processors, at the 1000Q scale and beyond. Leveraging your experience in computational electromagnetics and commercially available electromagnetic solvers in conjunction with a strong software engineering background, you will accelerate the simulation and optimization of quantum integrated circuits. You will improve both the automation of our modeling tools and the techniques used to simulate our designs, both classically and in the quantum regime, through your expertise in numerical methods and high performance computing.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement industry quality software infrastructure to automate the quantum integrated circuit design workflow, including the classical electromagnetic simulations of the device and the diagonalization of the quantum device Hamiltonian.
Accelerate simulations by adapting them for high performance compute clusters, including acceleration with GPU clusters where appropriate.
Develop optimization routines that wrap around the automated design and simulation workflow to improve the performance of quantum integrated circuits across a broad range of metrics (loss, crosstalk, etc…)
Drive a deeper understanding of our existing quantum processor designs and contribute to the design of next‑generation architectures through computational modeling.
Collaborate with quantum integrated design and simulation engineers to identify and address inefficiencies in the design process.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
Strong background in computational electromagnetics and numerical methods, with experience with commercial solvers including ANSYS, COMSOL, CST Microwave Studio or similar.
Experience in high performance computing.
Knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art computational optimization techniques.
Programming skills in Python for scientific applications, ideally in an industry or highly collaborative environment.
Familiarity with quantum mechanics and in particular, circuit quantum electrodynamics.

Key Responsibilities
* Run day-to-day assembly & packaging activities, including: die-pick from wafer, visual inspection, plasma cleaning, flip-chip bonding, adhesive die-attach (manual), wire bonding (manual, semi-automatic, and automatic), wire-pull test, and relevant processes in a class 100 manufacturing cleanroom.
* Activities will include equipment setup and recipes creation, operation, incoming and outgoing part inspection, part rework, and providing timely feedback to engineers for process and yield improvements
* Follow standard operating procedure, packaging diagrams, and written work instructions
* Utilize die map, die inspection report, and electrical-test results for die-pick from wafer. Will require consistent use of tweezers, ESD precautions, and microscope to support manufacturing operations and damage-free die handling

* Perform detailed documentation after assembly & packaging operations
* Responsible for equipment and process calibration and monitors (SPC)
* Work seamlessly with morning shift's assembly & packaging technicians with clear, consistent communication and structured shift handoff procedure

Rigetti is seeking an experienced, hands-on Equipment Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Fremont Fab-1. This critical role involves the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor processing tools within an R&D cleanroom, supporting the fabrication of wafers for quantum computing.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform both Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance on a variety of wafer fab equipment, including:
* Vacuum/Process Tools: PVD, ALD, evaporation/deposition, plasma/dry etch.
* Wet Processing Systems: Wet etch, solvent benches, wet benches, and chemical handling.
* Auxiliary Tools: Lithography (mask aligner, dispense/develop), metrology (e.g., SEM), wafer/wire bonding, and e-test.
Quickly and safely troubleshoot equipment issues to return tools to production status.Maintain accurate tool documentation, specifications, and calibration records following SOPs/PM procedures.Assist with general fab support tasks, such as chemical waste coordination/disposal, restocking of consumables, and gowning supply management (as assigned).Support engineering efforts by assisting with metrology and data collection during tool excursions or issues.Uphold and adhere to all EHS protocols (cleanroom etiquette, LOTO, hazmat, chemical safety); participate in safety programs and incident response.Serve as a member of the site Emergency Response Team (ERT) and respond to incidents per training and site procedures (may include off-hours response as needed).
Minimum Qualifications
* 7+ years of practical experience maintaining semiconductor or MEMS fab equipment, with a strong preference for vacuum tool specialization, or an equivalent combination of training and experience demonstrating strong relevant tool ownership.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and process gas/liquid piping diagrams.
* Proven ability to execute equipment repairs, upgrades, and hardware modifications.
* Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and strictly following hazmat/chemical safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Job DescriptionAs a Microwave Engineer in the quantum integrated circuit design team, you will drive systematic improvements to Rigetti Computing's quantum processors through modeling and design. You will be actively involved in realizing the chips that are at the core of our technology stack. Design, lay out, and simulate superconducting microwave integrated circuits for quantum processors, with a focus on optimal on-chip signal delivery (routing, filtering, multiplexing, etc…)

Key Responsibilities
* Mechanical Design & Prototyping:

This critical role involves the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor processing tools within an R&D cleanroom, supporting the fabrication of wafers for quantum computing.Key Responsibilities
Perform both Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance on a variety of wafer fab equipment, including:

This role is for an afternoon shift from 1:30pm - 10:00pm.Key Responsibilities
Run day-to-day assembly & packaging activities, including: die-pick from wafer, visual inspection, plasma cleaning, flip-chip bonding, adhesive die-attach (manual), wire bonding (manual, semi-automatic, and automatic), wire-pull test, and relevant processes in a class 100 manufacturing cleanroom.
Activities will include equipment setup and recipes creation, operation, incoming and outgoing part inspection, part rework, and providing timely feedback to engineers for process and yield improvements
Follow standard operating procedure, packaging diagrams, and written work instructions
Utilize die map, die inspection report, and electrical-test results for die-pick from wafer. Will require consistent use of tweezers, ESD precautions, and microscope to support manufacturing operations and damage-free die handling
Identify any sample issues and highlight them
Perform detailed documentation after assembly & packaging operations
Responsible for equipment and process calibration and monitors (SPC)
Work seamlessly with morning shift's assembly & packaging technicians with clear, consistent communication and structured shift handoff procedure
Work seamlessly with other fab team members in the afternoon shift, and be responsible as backup technician for other fab modules

Job DescriptionRigetti is seeking an experienced, hands-on Equipment Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Fremont Fab-1. Perform both Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance on a variety of wafer fab equipment, including:
Vacuum/Process Tools: PVD, ALD, evaporation/deposition, plasma/dry etch.
Wet Processing Systems: Wet etch, solvent benches, wet benches, and chemical handling.
Auxiliary Tools: Lithography (mask aligner, dispense/develop), metrology (e.g., SEM), wafer/wire bonding, and e-test.
Quickly and safely troubleshoot equipment issues to return tools to production status.
Maintain accurate tool documentation, specifications, and calibration records following SOPs/PM procedures.
Assist with general fab support tasks, such as chemical waste coordination/disposal, restocking of consumables, and gowning supply management (as assigned).
Support engineering efforts by assisting with metrology and data collection during tool excursions or issues.
Uphold and adhere to all EHS protocols (cleanroom etiquette, LOTO, hazmat, chemical safety); participate in safety programs and incident response.
Serve as a member of the site Emergency Response Team (ERT) and respond to incidents per training and site procedures (may include off-hours response as needed).
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of practical experience maintaining semiconductor or MEMS fab equipment, with a strong preference for vacuum tool specialization, or an equivalent combination of training and experience demonstrating strong relevant tool ownership.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and process gas/liquid piping diagrams.
Proven ability to execute equipment repairs, upgrades, and hardware modifications.
Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and strictly following hazmat/chemical safety procedures.
Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and robust documentation habits.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant technical training (AA/BS degree, vocational certificate, or military technical training).
