As Process Technician (Packaging & Assembly), you will be in charge of sustaining activities in the backend packaging process toward building quantum integrated circuits. You will spend your time immersed in the hands-on fabrication of these devices. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a wide range of engineers and scientists in process, integration, design, and quantum engineering. This role is for an afternoon shift from 1:30pm - 10:00pm. Key Responsibilities * Run day-to-day assembly & packaging activities, including: die-pick from wafer, visual inspection, plasma cleaning, flip-chip bonding, adhesive die-attach (manual), wire bonding (manual, semi-automatic, and automatic), wire-pull test, and relevant processes in a class 100 manufacturing cleanroom. * Activities will include equipment setup and recipes creation, operation, incoming and outgoing part inspection, part rework, and providing timely feedback to engineers for process and yield improvements * Follow standard operating procedure, packaging diagrams, and written work instructions * Utilize die map, die inspection report, and electrical-test results for die-pick from wafer. Will require consistent use of tweezers, ESD precautions, and microscope to support manufacturing operations and damage-free die handling * Identify any sample issues and highlight them * Perform detailed documentation after assembly & packaging operations * Responsible for equipment and process calibration and monitors (SPC) * Work seamlessly with morning shift's assembly & packaging technicians with clear, consistent communication and structured shift handoff procedure * Work seamlessly with other fab team members in the afternoon shift, and be responsible as backup technician for other fab modules Desired Skills * Associate or Bachelor's degree in STEM related fields or 3+ years of relevant, hands-on semiconductor / MEMS fab experience * Hands-on experience using and operating a wide range of semiconductor/MEMS assembly and packaging tools, such as wire bonders, die-attach, epoxy dispense, flip-chip assembly, and relevant metrology tools * Hands-on experience in die-prep tools, such as wafer mount, and wafer die eject is a definite plus * Ability to operate and multi-task between multiple machines * Ability to use optical microscope 50% of your time - must have good hand-eye coordination and a steady hand * Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment, including hazmat handling protocols, and observing ESD practices * Experience in a small and/or large fab process environment * Comfortable operating in an agile, fast-paced small-company environment, with the flexibility to adjust work hours and workdays as needed * Detail-oriented, comfortable with computer-based recipe and wafer tracking systems * Strong planning abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills * Comfortable with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Google-docs $42 - $50 an hour Rigetti complies with all local and state regulations in regards to displaying salary ranges. Rigetti is seeking an experienced, hands-on Equipment Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Fremont Fab-1. This critical role involves the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor processing tools within an R&D cleanroom, supporting the fabrication of wafers for quantum computing. Key Responsibilities * Perform both Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance on a variety of wafer fab equipment, including: * Vacuum/Process Tools: PVD, ALD, evaporation/deposition, plasma/dry etch. * Wet Processing Systems: Wet etch, solvent benches, wet benches, and chemical handling. * Auxiliary Tools: Lithography (mask aligner, dispense/develop), metrology (e.g., SEM), wafer/wire bonding, and e-test. Quickly and safely troubleshoot equipment issues to return tools to production status.Maintain accurate tool documentation, specifications, and calibration records following SOPs/PM procedures.Assist with general fab support tasks, such as chemical waste coordination/disposal, restocking of consumables, and gowning supply management (as assigned).Support engineering efforts by assisting with metrology and data collection during tool excursions or issues.Uphold and adhere to all EHS protocols (cleanroom etiquette, LOTO, hazmat, chemical safety); participate in safety programs and incident response.Serve as a member of the site Emergency Response Team (ERT) and respond to incidents per training and site procedures (may include off-hours response as needed). Job DescriptionAs a Microwave Engineer in the quantum integrated circuit design team, you will drive systematic improvements to Rigetti Computing's quantum processors through modeling and design. You will be actively involved in realizing the chips that are at the core of our technology stack. We are looking for a Senior Physicist to join our Quantum Networking Team, who will develop and integrate the key technologies that push the frontiers of quantum networking forward. As a member, you'll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to prototype the quantum networks that become our future products. You'll work closely with other scientists and engineers to develop and optimize new technologies that enable high performance quantum networks. You will work with technical leaders across the organization to identify and eliminate pain points and help inform future system designs to support better and more stable system performance. This role is for an afternoon shift from 1:30pm - 10:00pm.Key Responsibilities Run day-to-day assembly & packaging activities, including: die-pick from wafer, visual inspection, plasma cleaning, flip-chip bonding, adhesive die-attach (manual), wire bonding (manual, semi-automatic, and automatic), wire-pull test, and relevant processes in a class 100 manufacturing cleanroom. Activities will include equipment setup and recipes creation, operation, incoming and outgoing part inspection, part rework, and providing timely feedback to engineers for process and yield improvements Follow standard operating procedure, packaging diagrams, and written work instructions Utilize die map, die inspection report, and electrical-test results for die-pick from wafer. Will require consistent use of tweezers, ESD precautions, and microscope to support manufacturing operations and damage-free die handling Identify any sample issues and highlight them Perform detailed documentation after assembly & packaging operations Responsible for equipment and process calibration and monitors (SPC) Work seamlessly with morning shift's assembly & packaging technicians with clear, consistent communication and structured shift handoff procedure Work seamlessly with other fab team members in the afternoon shift, and be responsible as backup technician for other fab modules Desired Skills Associate or Bachelor's degree in STEM related fields or 3+ years of relevant, hands-on semiconductor / MEMS fab experience Hands-on experience using and operating a wide range of semiconductor/MEMS assembly and packaging tools, such as wire bonders, die-attach, epoxy dispense, flip-chip assembly, and relevant metrology tools Hands-on experience in die-prep tools, such as wafer mount, and wafer die eject is a definite plus Ability to operate and multi-task between multiple machines Ability to use optical microscope 50% of your time - must have good hand-eye coordination and a steady hand Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment, including hazmat handling protocols, and observing ESD practices Experience in a small and/or large fab process environment Comfortable operating in an agile, fast-paced small-company environment, with the flexibility to adjust work hours and workdays as needed Detail-oriented, comfortable with computer-based recipe and wafer tracking systems Strong planning abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Google-docs As engineering leaders, we value diversity and are committed to building a culture of inclusion to attract and engage innovative thinkers. Job DescriptionRigetti is seeking an experienced, hands-on Equipment Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Fremont Fab-1. This critical role involves the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor processing tools within an R&D cleanroom, supporting the fabrication of wafers for quantum computing.Key Responsibilities Perform both Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance on a variety of wafer fab equipment, including: Vacuum/Process Tools: PVD, ALD, evaporation/deposition, plasma/dry etch. Wet Processing Systems: Wet etch, solvent benches, wet benches, and chemical handling. Auxiliary Tools: Lithography (mask aligner, dispense/develop), metrology (e.g., SEM), wafer/wire bonding, and e-test. Quickly and safely troubleshoot equipment issues to return tools to production status. Maintain accurate tool documentation, specifications, and calibration records following SOPs/PM procedures. Assist with general fab support tasks, such as chemical waste coordination/disposal, restocking of consumables, and gowning supply management (as assigned). Support engineering efforts by assisting with metrology and data collection during tool excursions or issues. Uphold and adhere to all EHS protocols (cleanroom etiquette, LOTO, hazmat, chemical safety); participate in safety programs and incident response. Serve as a member of the site Emergency Response Team (ERT) and respond to incidents per training and site procedures (may include off-hours response as needed). Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of practical experience maintaining semiconductor or MEMS fab equipment, with a strong preference for vacuum tool specialization, or an equivalent combination of training and experience demonstrating strong relevant tool ownership. Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and process gas/liquid piping diagrams. Proven ability to execute equipment repairs, upgrades, and hardware modifications. Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and strictly following hazmat/chemical safety procedures. Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and robust documentation habits. Preferred Qualifications Relevant technical training (AA/BS degree, vocational certificate, or military technical training). Experience across multiple core fab areas (e.g., dry etch, wet etch, vacuum deposition, lithography, metrology, bonding). Previous experience in both R&D and production settings; comfortable operating in a small-team/startup environment. Experience with manual wafer handling. Shift Details: Shift Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm Training: Initial training will generally follow the morning shift schedule. Overtime: Availability may vary based on business needs.
