As an Instructional Aide, you'll play a vital role in shaping the success of students in Grades 3-12 by providing personalized support, supervision and guidance both in the classroom and within the community. Collaborating closely with classroom educators, you'll help assist with implementing each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), tailoring instruction to their unique learning. Collaborating closely with classroom teachers to cultivate a supportive, welcoming, and high-achieving learning environment where all students feel safe and valued.
Implementing engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions both on-site and in community settings, aligned with each student's unique goals and objectives.
Instructing and closely monitoring students during classroom lessons, ensuring instructional fidelity, and applying targeted strategies to enhance student comprehension and successful course completion.
Encouraging individual student growth by consistently tracking progress against established timelines and proactively communicating with classroom teachers regarding students' successes and areas needing additional intervention.
Managing student behavior effectively, reinforcing our school's philosophy and policies, and applying consistent disciplinary measures in collaboration with classroom teachers.
Supporting and mentoring students facing academic challenges, encouraging personal growth, and assisting them in developing essential community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.
Completing clear, accurate, and timely documentation of student behaviors and performance, reporting meaningful observations, and offering actionable recommendations to relevant staff.
Assisting with the preparation of detailed behavioral reports, daily activity logs, and other necessary documentation.
Communicating proactively and clearly with students, colleagues, supervisors, and families regarding student needs, achievements, and areas of concern, working in close partnership with teachers and administration.
Maintaining strict confidentiality of all student records and information at all times.
Participating actively in assurance and accreditation activities, contributing to achieving site performance standards and accreditation requirements.
Participating in school-wide, student-parent, and advisory meetings to foster collaborative support networks and positive educational outcomes.
Responding positively and constructively to formal and informal feedback, demonstrating continuous professional growth.
Performing additional responsibilities as needed to support student success and contribute to the overall effectiveness of our educational community.
‖ Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent w/ passage of basic skills test.
Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study preferred.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, education assistant or similar credential preferred.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a registered behavioral technician (RBT) credential preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training.
Prior experience working with children, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
Highly skilled in working with individuals with severe learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and/or emotional disturbance.
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
Solid motivational skills and willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives.
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

Overview:

Within this program, the Passport to Careers Peer Mentor plays a crucial role in student success. They actively engage with students, providing support to ensure academic persistence and eventual graduation. Serving as a primary resource for personal assistance, Peer Mentor establishes connections with participants through consistent and proactive interaction. They also collaborate with various campus support personnel to identify effective interventions, offer resource utilization and referrals, and meticulously document services provided.
Essential Functions
An ideal Peer Mentor would possess, or have the capacity to develop, knowledge of:
* Serving special student populations
* Having an awareness of trauma-informed practices
* Maintaining knowledge of campus and community resources
* Understanding when and how to submit a referral for additional resources
* Providing academic and personal mentoring to program participants
* Assisting students with resolving personal, social, career, financial, and academic concerns and challenges.
* Aiding program participants by offering individual academic support or facilitating referrals to appropriate support.
* Supporting in the maintenance of participant records (such as documenting student contacts, participant progress, areas of concern, and assisting with progress assessments and evaluations).

The Associate Dean participates in collaborative leadership with the Dean of Transitions and Corrections and other instructional leaders to fulfill the mission and priorities of the college. The University of Washington Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) is responsible for the oversight and clinical care within three emergency departments within UW Medicine: Harborview Medical Center (HMC), the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake (UWMC-ML) and the UWMC-Northwest (UWMC-NW). These emergency departments see a combined annual patient volume of approximately 120,000. The department supports a 4-year emergency medicine residency program with 72 residents, 5 fellowship programs, as well as a required medical student rotation for the UW School of Medicine fourth year students. The department structure also includes four (4) Sections: Critical Care, EMS, Population Health, and Emergency Ultrasound. The department has a robust research program, including funding from both government and private sources. The department closely collaborates with the Seattle Fire Department through the Medic One EMS program, as well as King County Medic One. The mission of the Department of Emergency Medicine is to advance and shape the future of emergency care locally, regionally, and globally. We foster this mission through the delivery of exceptional patient-centered emergency care; the provision of state-of-the-art emergency medicine education; and Innovation, transformative research and discovery, and the generation of knowledge. The department has an annual budget of $40M and has 100 faculty and 75 staff.
**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**
The Vice Chair reports to the Department Chair and School's Associate Dean of Administration and Operations and serves as the business manager and senior administrative support representative for the Department. As such, the Vice Chair has a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including: financial planning/management, budget development, supervision of the Department's classified and exempt staff, personnel, payroll, purchasing, special project support, and other administrative functions for the School of Medicine.
As a UW SoM Department Vice Chair of Finance and Administration, the incumbent carries out duties prescribed by the directing, overseeing, or partnering institutions and organizations. The critical knowledge and skills are organized into the areas of: Financial Management and Development Activities, Operations Management, Practice Plan Management, Compliance and Risk Management, Research Management, Information Management, Human Resource Management, Facilities Management and Educational Program(s) Management. He/she/they acts in an advisory capacity to the Chair and various Department committees, providing financial guidance, background information, and management advice. In addition, the Vice Chair is the Department's primary working-level interface with the Dean's Office, the Practice Plans, and other departments in the University regarding administrative issues.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**_Financial Management and Development Activities (20%)_**
+ Manage the financial resources of the department to include budgets and funds from federal, state, practice plan, private, University, and foundation sources to ensure ethical and fiduciary practices.
+ Interacts with faculty and staff to facilitate the department's ability to achieve clinical, scientific, and educational goals.
+ Interprets policies and regulations concerning the department's financial activities; ensures compliance with the University's policies and procedures as well as guidelines from the federal government, state, and other research project sponsors.
+ Develops and implements internal financial system controls to ensure integrity of all financial transactions in accordance with applicable jurisdictions.
+ Maintains a working knowledge of the department's financial operations, funding sources, policies, and procedures.
**_Operations Management (10%)_**
+ Manage department operations to ensure the day-to-day and cyclic requirements are met; plans, resources, and monitors programmatic activities; prepares reports, terminates, or continues programs; plans or coordinates marketing documents or activities.

Job Summary: Supervision Paraprofessional Supervise students and maintain a cooperative atmosphere during lunch, in the cafeteria, and 'Free 15' (recess), outside. Circulate among students and attempt to resolve minor problems as they arise. Assist in organizing various play activities and games when outside during 'Free 15.' Supervise the dismissal of students from lunch room / playground area.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required to have completed one of the following requirement: Either (1) documentation to support an Assosiate's Degree or transcripts to verify the comparable equivalence (i.e. 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits from an accredited university, college, community college or business school), or (2) ETS ParaPro Assessment with a passing score of 455 (this can be taken at ESD 112 or at Lower Columbia College), (3) The Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program: 65% or (4) Completed a Paraeducator 2 Apprenticeship Program.
Required to complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) within the first year of employment. (This 28-hour course is required for all paraeducators within their first year of employment. The FCS covers topics such as cultural identity, instructional support, technology, and behavior management. Paraeducators are paid for FCS classes that take place outside of their normal work hours.)

Whatcom Community College welcomes applications for a part-time music and audio technology instructor for spring quarter 2026. The successful candidate will:

Course description:
This course is an introduction to the basic operation and techniques of digital audio software through projects involving mixing, sequencing, and music production. Development of critical listening skills to better understand creative expression through recorded music.
Course outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, each student should be able to:
* Perform fundamental operations in the digital audio workstation (DAW) software Ableton Live, including signal flow, editing, mixing, digital instruments, and signal processing.
* Apply music production skills to creative works including song arrangement, mixing, sound design, and sampling.
* Record audio using the Media Center's hardware (recording booths and microphones) and incorporate that into software projects.
* Show a portfolio of completed projects from the quarter.
Course format:
In-person: This class meets in-person on Fridays 9:00 am- 1:00 pm
Lab requirement : This class also requires students to work in the Media Center for two hours every week. This time is not scheduled, and students may work in the lab at the time(s) of their choosing.
