Earlier in his career, Laurence co-founded Showpower Inc., which provided portable generation to the entertainment and sporting industries, including the summer and winter Olympics and global concert tours such as U2, David Bowie and Madonna. Showpower was later sold to GE in 1999.Laurence also played key roles in taking APR Energy and Showpower through their IPO’s, and in 2013 helped lead the acquisition of GE’s power rental business, which made APR Energy the world leader in fast-track, mobile turbine power. APR Energy is a fast-track power provider that combines speed, scale and technology to power entire cities within 30-90 days. APR’s customers are primarily utilities and power intensive industries, typically that have an urgent need for power and simply cannot wait for traditional solutions.
