The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct assigned underwriting surveys at prospect and policyholder locations to define business operations, and key property & casualty exposures and controls. Identify and evaluate the following property & casualty exposures: fire sprinkler systems, alarm systems, water supplies, hydrant systems for both private and public systems, commercial auto; and product liability. Identify and evaluate effectiveness of prospect and policyholder food safety programs. Evaluate effectiveness of prospect and policyholder safety programs and initiatives. Identify moderate complexity engineering and/or administrative controls to reduce property & casualty loss potential. Develop ability to use analyze loss data to identify key trends and prioritize policyholder service needs. Develop risk management service plans and performs ongoing consultation to assigned service accounts. Develop and submit recommendations that reduce policyholder property and liability exposures. Influence policyholders to implement risk management recommendations. Build and maintain productive policyholder and agency work relationships. Prepare effective reports for policyholders and internal partners. Conduct effective investigation of small to medium sized property and casualty related incidents and losses. Conduct policyholder training primarily based on need. Market Zenith Agribusiness and the Risk Management department. Meet department standards for individual work quality, productivity, and time service. Education, Skills, and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience safety and health, risk management, science, engineering or related technical curriculum or equivalent combination of training/experience required 1+ year risk management, loss control or safety and health experience required Willing to begin working toward recognized professional designation such as CSP, ARM, AFIS, CPCU, etc. Knowledge of property & casualty insurance; including basic understanding of underwriting and claims practices Effective communication, sales and presentation skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other common business software Ability to learn and use proprietary Zenith Agribusiness systems Ability to effectively operate mobile computer and communication devices Driver License in good standing
