Responsibilities:

* Assist with the on-going maintenance and enhancements to our existing risk management processes and mitigation strategies within the Americas region by working closely with Risk Management (RM) and business leaders, Global Quality and RM team and Digital Nexus; active engagement with Global risk management transformation initiatives
* Engage in the development and testing of new tools to support existing RM activities, including portfolio management, and reporting for both US and Regional Americas Leadership
* Collaborate with Cluster and Americas leadership to identify, develop and implement desired training programs in support of major regional initiatives (including process narratives and practice aids)
* Work directly with Cluster RM teams within the Americas region to support and execute quality review programs including periodic compliance activities to help ensure compliance with Firm requirements; evaluate, and recommend appropriate RM approaches and solutions to effectively address evolving regional trends within the Advisory Services portfolio
* Contribute to the continued development and improvement of Risk Management processes, tools, and other related activities (including technology enabled solutions) to help drive consistency throughout the region
* Participate in other Risk Management projects and initiatives including the global quality review program; liaise with RM counterparts throughout the Americas region to manage on-going projects and activities

Qualifications:

* Minimum ten years of recent related work experience in Enterprise Risk Management risks and controls; prior work experience for a professional services firm preferred
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels within the firm; fluency in English and Spanish is required
* Strong organizational, analytical, collaboration and influencing skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
* Advanced data analytics skills to assist with the ongoing development of technology enabled solutions
* Project Management skills and progressive experience supporting multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple concurrent tasks and projects; ability to identify a problem and develop and implement concrete solutions

The Director of Risk Management for the BAE Systems, Inc. business is a key leader on the Shared Services Finance team.This position interacts with counterparts across the business footprint, with key responsibilities to include:

Understand the operational risk profiles of the various business Sectors and collaborate with Group Insurable Risk and brokers to secure and maintain appropriate insurance coverage to align with such profiles.

Conduct within each Sector's functional areas a contract management review process, as it relates to optimizing insurance and indemnity Terms & Conditions and risk transfer outcomes.

Develop and effectively negotiate appropriate insurance Terms & Conditions specific to ship repair operations, to include knowledge of Hull & Machinery, Marine General Liability, Protection & Indemnity and Vessel Pollution Liability coverage.

Lead and administer the Inc. claims process (Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Auto Liability, Environmental Liability and Global policies), engaging with the Group Claims Manager, In-House Counsel, Third Party Claim Administrators and other independent claim professionals, as applicable.

Manage the US-appointed brokers by negotiating MSA Terms & Conditions, monitoring service performance across all lines and facilitating resource support.

Support Inc. Treasury Department and external auditors in the periodic filing of Self-Procurement Tax and Federal Excise Tax liabilities.

Provide group training in insurance coverages, policy endorsement terminology, contract writing do's and don'ts, and how to read ACORD Form Certificates of Insurance.

Collaborate with external actuaries, external carries and Sector/HQ in producing workers' compensation loss data.

Administer the Workers' Compensation payroll audit processes, applicable to the State Act, Defense Base Act and Aviation programs.
Administer the surety bond procurement program, in collaboration with Inc. Treasury and the broker. Understand and comply with Financial Policies Manage a small staff with focus on learning and development;interact with executive level stakeholders


Required Education, Experience, & Skills


Master of Business Administration degree or Juris Doctorate degree preferred.
Minimum: Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university, majoring in Risk Management, Finance or General Business Administration.

Certifications -

Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (preferred)
Associate of Risk Management (preferred)

Relevant Work Experience -

Minimum combined 10 years' experience in a Risk Management position and/or commercial Property & Casualty broker position, preferably within the US aerospace defense industry, including a minimum of 5 years claims management experience (Workers' Compensation - State Act, DBA and USL&H, Commercial General Liability, Marine General Liability, Protection & Indemnity, Hull & Machinery, Auto Liability, Property Damage & Business Interruption, Environmental Liability and Financial Lines liability).In-depth knowledge of maritime insurance coverage and aviation insurance coverage is beneficial.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills


Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to be an effective people manager, exhibiting DE&I leadership behaviors and skills. Ability to assume leadership roles in various group settings, set the agendas and moderate the meetings. Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Zoom. Ability to travel within the US approximately 20-30% of a calendar year.
