Hybrid Risk Engineer: Provide a combination of both field and account engineering responsibilities in accordance with business needs. This role is a hybrid of both field and account engineering expectations.
Provides moderately complex consultative services to an assigned group of customers within a risk engineering territory. Conducts on-site evaluations, evaluates data, and creates/implements service plans to control customer source of risk, losses and costs.

Provide an array of property risk engineering services to commercial property underwriters and customers, including technical consultations, on-site property surveys, project specification development, project/plan reviews, and any other service requiring property risk engineering or fire protection expertise.
Identify, evaluate, qualify and quantify risk globally as related to covered perils to influence underwriting decisions and organizational profitability.
Provide risk engineering services and information to track progress and demonstrate the value of doing business with Liberty Mutual.
Serves as the Property Risk Engineering contact with brokers and corporate customer management.
Manages the flow of engineering information between the customer, Risk Engineering Consultant, Broker, Underwriter, and all other interested parties to add value through risk improvement programs and superior customer service.
Provide an array of property Risk Engineering consultative services to Liberty Mutual property underwriters and their customers, including technical consultations, on-site property surveys, project specification development, project/plan reviews, and any other service requiring property risk engineering or fire protection expertise.
Perform desk-top account reviews to Identify, Evaluate, Qualify, and Quantify risk located throughout the world. Then collaborate with Underwriting to improve Risk Selection decisions in order to achieve profitability.
Improve customer satisfaction and demonstrate the value of doing business with Liberty Mutual by Working collaboratively with Underwriting, brokers and customers by assisting in actively acquiring and retaining profitable business, developing customized property risk engineering proposals including list of locations to be surveyed, scope of other technical services and the associated cost of all risk engineering services.
Interface with Liberty Mutual Equipment Breakdown (EB) unit to ensure all EB risk engineering services and pressure vessel jurisdictional services are assigned and completed as necessary for each serviced account.
Develop, implement and monitor customized Special Servicing Instructions (SSI's) to guide the property risk engineering services being provided on specified accounts.
Develop comprehensive Account Reviews for the Underwriter, in accordance with Engineering and Underwriting guidelines, in order to influence positive underwriting decisions and outcomes.
Develop and present comprehensive Engineering Service Stewardship reports which serve as a platform to partner and relationship build with key external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Advanced knowledge, skills and experience in a specialized field, property risk assessment, or property risk analysis.
Fully effective interpersonal, writing and other communication skills required to develop and maintain relationships with customers, peers, and industry contacts.
Demonstrated ability to retrieve and enter information using various proprietary software applications and create/modify documents and complex spreadsheets using Microsoft Office suite.
Bachelor's degree with coursework in math, engineering or related areas (or equivalent) and at least 5 to 7 years of directly related large property or Highly Protected Risk (HPR) experience in property loss prevention or risk engineering.
Candidates are typically working towards (or obtained) an advanced degree and/or professional certification in one or more of the following areas: PE, NFPA-CFPS

**Job Description**
Join Olsson's Data Center Design team as a **Senior Fire Protection Engineer** , where you'll take the lead on complex, mission-critical projects, including hyperscale data centers and secure facilities. This is a highly visible role within a multidisciplinary team known for delivering innovative, high-performance building systems.
You'll provide technical leadership on fire protection strategies that safeguard infrastructure, protect assets, and meet the most rigorous code and client requirements. You'll collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and security professionals across sectors such as data centers, healthcare, higher education, commercial, industrial and federal facilities.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the design and execution of fire protection systems for secure and mission-critical facilities
+ Develop and review fire suppression, alarm, and life safety system designs to meet client and code requirements (NFPA, IBC, IFC, UFCs, etc.)
+ Serve as the technical expert and client liaison for fire protection scopes on data center and secure facility projects
+ Coordinate across disciplines to ensure fully integrated system design
+ Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing
+ Support proposal development and contribute to project scope and scheduling
+ Occasionally travel to project sites or other Olsson offices as needed (approximately 15-25%)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Syner-G is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer with strong experience in utility infrastructure, building management systems (BMS), and reliability engineering. Perform and direct complex design of ductwork, piping and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems for large scale size buildings. Able to work independently in all Mechanical disciplines with no oversight or guidance. As necessary assist with HVAC Designs.
Oversee, guide, mentor and provide technical leadership to designers and engineering team.
Direct the work of less experienced staff including the development and presentation of annual performance reviews.
May serve in the QAQC process and an independent reviewer.
Interface effectively with clients and members of the design team.
Oversee the use of engineering complexities related to the use Energy Model software.
Prepare Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic design to construction administration phases including layout, sketches and detail drawings as required. As necessary perform Revit/BIM modeling HVAC systems.
Specify equipment such as water heaters, plumbing fixtures, water softeners and pumping equipment.
Review and accept selective shop drawings for compliance of specifications and contract documents.
Interface effectively with clients and members of the project team and attend Owner, Architect, Construction Administration (OAC) meetings with an understanding and focus on the project budget.
Participate or lead value engineering sessions with Architectural/Engineering team.
Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts.
Conduct staff development activities including work planning, budget development, scheduling in conjunction with the Project Manager.
Respond to RFI's and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Attend and participate in construction meetings. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
Represents company in project activities; directs activities of project team members; represents company in business development and marketing activities. May serve on internal and/or professional committees.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum ABET/EAC Bachelor degree or equivalent required.

The Position
The Fire Protection Engineer for Above Group shall contribute and support Fire Protection engineering, fire and life safety systems, code compliance, and risk assessment efforts for the firm. The FPE shall be a graduated engineer from an ABET accredited institution who shall directly contribute to the Firm and its success through engineering and design efforts. The ideal candidate will be capable of developing comprehensive fire protection plans and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The FPE is also responsible for contributing to the growth of the team by leading and mentoring them in expanding their capabilities and contributions. The FPE shall execute engineering and design duties as required to ensure quality products.
The FPE shall be an Engineer registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) at a minimum (preference given to FPE licensed in Florida). Additional credentials are encouraged and desired.
The FPE is an Engineer by education and experience:

What You'll Do:
AcuTech's fire protection engineering services focus on industrial facilities handling highly hazardous chemicals. Job Requirements:

Minium 5+ years of direct experience with fire protection engineering.
Ability to determine fire protection system requirements for highly protected risk applications handling flammable and combustible liquids and gases such as petroleum, chemical and other manufacturing facilities.

Knowledge of internationally accepted fire protection equipment and techniques as well as fire codes and standards interpretation and compliance especially for NFPA 30, 400, 1, 13, 15, 11, 68, 69, 101 and standard building fire codes, such as IBC/IFC.
Knowledge of combustion and explosion principles and ability to conduct performance-based assessment using fire hazard and consequence modelling methods.

Ability/willingness for frequent travel (on average 25-50%) within the US, with occasional international travel for client work and conferences. Valid driver's license required.
