This role focuses on system-level architecture and integration across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines to ensure solutions meet customer performance, regulatory, safety, cost, quality and schedule requirements. The Systems Engineer collaborates closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to ensure projects are delivered On Time - On Budget - Done Right - Done Safely. What does a Systems Engineer do at SpecSys? Provide whole life cycle ownership for company products and solutions Define and verify system-level requirements, performance, and configuration specifications Develop system concepts and architectures to meet project functional requirements Coordinate integration between mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems Perform engineering calculations and analysis to verify compliance with system requirements Lead system-level design verification and validation activities, including FMEA and risk assessments Provide technical guidance and direction to Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering team members Collaborate with Project Management to develop and maintain project timelines, including periodic reviews Ensure system designs align with customer expectations, applicable codes, and internal standards Review and approve subsystem designs to ensure proper system integration Prepare and present system design review materials to internal teams and customers Support development of system documentation, including system operation manuals and user documentation Provide technical support to Manufacturing during system builds and integration Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of system-level issues during build, test, and commissioning Specify materials and components required to support system design and integration Generate and review system-level Bills of Material for completeness and accuracy Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Change Notices (ECNs) and track system-related action items Serve as a technical interface between engineering disciplines, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Many tasks include direct work and/or review of work performed by others within the engineering department What is SpecSys looking for in a quality candidate? The Assembler position is an entry level position that provides an individual the opportunity to learn, develop and apply the assembly skills and knowledge required to assemble and disassemble packaging automation machines. This individual works under the direction of an Assembly Production Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. The Field Service Technician has the skills and the knowledge to install, service, and repair Douglas Machine automated packaging machinery. Service work may include, but not limited to performing routine maintenance, repairs, modification, machine setup, or training of customer personnel. In addition, this position requires extensive travel to customer sites. This position is accepting applications from Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Arizona & New Mexico. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. To facilitate this communication the technician should be available via company furnished cell phone. This phone would be used only for work related calls. Sheet Metal Fabricator I is the first of three levels of skilled sheet metal work. At this level, the fabricator has the capability to fabricate metal material by applying appropriate fabrication techniques. In addition, this position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, or diagrams to determine appropriate fabrication process. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and works under direct supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. The Field Service Technical Advisor I is an entry level position that will assist Field Service Technical Advisor II's and provide customers with technical information. This position also provides assistance with the coordination of information and briefing Field Service Technicians on assignments to ensure that customer service activity achieves corporate objectives. In addition, the Field Service Technical Advisor I will be responsible for ensuring that machine records reflect current machine configuration and for providing input on Field Service Technician performance reviews and training needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. A Mechanical Engineer is responsible for assisting and/or producing a complete mechanical design package for each project they are assigned to. This position is also involved in the creation of design standards/practices and the development of new machine concepts and modifications. This Manufacturing Coordinator I plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing process. The Electrical Engineer position is responsible for projects of average scope and complexity; often with little or no supervision for extended periods; including frequent interaction with internal associates, external customers, and suppliers. Primary focus includes machine design packages applying existing technology used within the company, with focus primarily on routine projects assigned within their own business unit. Other duties may be assigned: * Steward our mission (to enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (unwavering integrity, servant's heart, ownership spirit and continuous innovation and improvement). * Able to create electrical and pneumatic hardware design packages using existing technology used within the company. * Review, understand, and follow the design criteria outlined in the machine specification documents, including mechanical criteria that may affect the electrical and/or pneumatic design. * Follow all Douglas electrical standards including engineering and assembly standards, national codes (NEC, NFPA79 and UL508A), and any other applicable standards and codes. * Including the calculations for enclosure and raceway sizing, enclosure cooling, and machine utility requirements. * Generate the Bill of Material and related documentation for all assigned projects. * Including electrical schematics, pneumatics drawings, panel layout, cable routing, electrical brackets, cable/wire labels, phenolic tags, and machine floor plan information. * Maintain project schedules and completes assigned projects within allocated hours. * Travel to customer sites to resolve machine installation and/or commissioning problems. * Interact in a professional manner with internal associates, external customers, and suppliers to support all assigned projects throughout their design, manufacture, build, validation, and commissioning phases. * Identify opportunities for cost reductions and quality improvements in equipment. * Utilize corporate processes * Design and Development * Verification and Validation * Engineering Change Control * Risk Assessment for all machine designs * Douglas Improvement Projects * Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures. * Assist in the training of new employees. The base pay rate for this role is $17.00-$19.00 per hour, with an added shift differential of 10% - resulting in an adjusted starting wage of $18.70-$20.90 per hour.
