Job Description:
Rite-Hite, a global leader in material handling and industrial safety solutions, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. This is a 100% remote opportunity.
In this role, you will:
Install, commission, and maintain automated systems
Troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and control systems
Work with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
Get the opportunity to Travel extensively supporting our customers
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Automated Material Handling Equipment.
Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent) to optimize system performance.
Perform mechanical installations including rigging, alignment, and assembly of Automated Material Handling Equipment components.
Work with electrical and control systems, including wiring, sensors, and motor controls.
Conduct system testing, debugging, and fine-tuning to ensure proper operation.
Train customer personnel on the operation and maintenance of Automated Material Handling Equipment.
Provide remote and on-site technical support for system troubleshooting with the ability to support 24/7.
Collaborate with engineering teams to recommend design improvements and resolve complex system issues.
Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and records of work performed.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and site regulations.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of experience in field service, installation, or commissioning of automated systems.
Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rigging, and industrial machinery installation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC logic.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%) both domestically and internationally.
Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary work visas for international travel
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
Previous experience with Automated Material Handling Equipment, conveyor systems, or warehouse automation.

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for onsite installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of Leica equipment.
This position reports to the District Field Service Manager, Central and is part of the Service Department working remotely to cover the Central Region.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
* Visit customers (primarily universities and hospitals) for preventive maintenance actions, fault analysis, upgrades, installation, maintenance, and repair to achieve optimum customer care delivering professional service with effective working practices.
* Support Sales Representatives in activities such as installations and demo/exhibitions.
* Collaborate closely with the Service Team to ensure all customers in the region are provided professional after-sales service, including exchanging valuable information resulting from customer contacts to increase customer happiness and sales.
The essential requirements of the job include:
* HS Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years' experience and/or vocational training in a technical, scientific, or engineering background or relevant military experience
* Electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience.
* Ability to travel up to 80% including overnight travel up to 4 nights a week with international travel for training up to twice a year.

Job Overview:
The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.
Responsibilities:
In addition to performing preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment, our service techs will interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs. All service technicians will assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.
* Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
* Provides technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning and start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems. Including "hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirement with limited guidance from the Master Technician.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
* Service Technicians will travel daily in a 3-hour radius within our service area.
* A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
Starting Pay will range between $25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, hourly position.
The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Ingersoll Rand, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
